GR Yaris GR-Yaris Rally2

Someone measured that Kankkunen made same time 1:21 with Rally2 car with Breen. Kankku had gravel tires but still.. not a bad time!

Strange exhaust location given turbo is on passanger side? Both ap4 and rally1 run exhaust on right hand side

I didn’t think anyone would bother as the rear suspension design isn’t up to it but I’ve seen they’ve changed the location. I wasn’t aware you could do that for R2. It will make a nice change to see these out instead of the usual fiestas and Fabias.

Front shock also completely different, shocks are very long (stroke) and extend far below and in front of the driveshafts...

One of the chaps I talked to recently who works at the engine factory for TGR in Germany said to keep an eye out on Rally2 for the new GR Yaris, so I guess next year they'll be fielding a car with a 3 cylinder.

He also mentioned next year they're still running a 4 cylinder in the Rally1 car.

But what are those 4-cyl engines in the Toyota, Hyundai and Ford Rally1 cars, are they related in any way to production engines or are they completely bespoke for Rally1?

Id say bespoke. Not likely to be related to production engines. They were derived from wrc cars prio Rally1

Great to see finally! It sounds good too - nice exhaust note and lots of turbo chuffing sounds

I'd quite like the roof scoop and side mirrors please!

And have we had it confirmed this is using our 3 cyl engine? Didn't see that mentioned anywhere? Is there a spec sheet yet?

One more from me! I wonder if we'll be able to buy that front grille to replace ours when needed?!
