GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Yes, it's mine, of course I like it. Although, to be honest, I still find the rear of the Yaris incredibly ugly... But back to the front. Look at the MK2 again and then the picture, the whole thing 5 times in a row. Hello, who did this crime with the MK2 :))).?

bit weird to launch the mk2 with signature models but maybe its just to get that desirability through the roof and then when you offer the "standard" model with less ridiculous pricing it almost feels cheap / steal. but lets see. .
agree with you there! the whole launch seems weird in a way since we don't hear anything about it apart from some small instagram posts.

But the event/location/Evans/TGR WRT etc seems very nice

Kalle sends his regards, no signature for you 👀 ;)

(🤫 I kinda agree but then I'm old enough to be his father so maybe that's ok)
It's just not a great design in my opinion. That doesn't have anything to do with age. Honestly a flame decal from Need for Speed on some type of Neon colour would probably have looked cooler than what they did with that special edition.

So what is the best guess for cost of the UK Mk2?
I for one, love a manual, but really interested in this auto, but I hate not knowing if I'd regret selling my Mk1 and getting an Auto Mk2 Urghhhh!!!
I keep comparing the idea of 'upgrading', with the thought, if it was an Lancia Integrale, I'd much prefer to have the `Evo 2'. But it will be a lot of extra money for a slightly better version of what I already have :/ SO confusing, but hey ho, 1st World problems!

I’d prefer a 16v or Evo 1 integrale over a Evo 2
As the Evo 2 had a smaller turbo and was more refined for the road.

Hopefully I'm wrong and the manual will be £37500 and auto £39995.

Have a feeling they'll delete the forged wheels and get the manual under £40k.

White, auto, no BBS wheels £39,995 sounds like a possibility.

Manual, no BBS, paint option £38,XXX would be nice.

Yeah at a push I think this could be possible but are people really that fussed about the tax increase for a few years? Most on here seem to spend far too much money on their cars anyway that I doubt it will make a difference.

I think the BBS wheels look so much better than the standard ones. If they are an option on the mk2 I would have to buy them. Which I think would push them over the £40k mark.

But if the extra tax is the only reason why it would put you off then it’s only an extra £400 a year for the first 5 years.

I think ultimately it’s the combination of higher price, higher interest rates and higher running costs. £2k in additional VED over 5 years isn’t small potatoes, nor is 8.4% vs 1.9%.

It’s undoubtedly affordable for probably anyone on here, its whether you feel it’s justifiable against the value prop of the car vs continuing to run a Mk1.

I don’t know the answer for myself tbh, though the time will come shortly to decide.

Yes I was thinking the APR is more of the issue, repayments will be much higher.

Although it’s only £2k over the 5 years period it’s hard to justify just handing over extra money when the higher VED was brought in to penalise luxury cars. It should increase with inflation to keep that true.

I still think the mk1 looks better. Although I can see why someone would want to change if they want an auto.

That is the annoying thing about it. It should have been increased with inflation. If it had it would be £47k now. Typical stealth tax rise.

Toyota Sweden page seems to be updating, the first/information page about the GR Yaris is down, now it goes straight to the "choose your model" page. Still for the mk1, of course.
Maybe we should have some updates in the next few days

Edit: just came back, no news for now

I've just received an email from Toyota Italy (subject: Great news about the new GR Yaris are imminent!) asking to submit a form to your chosen dealer to book an appointment for when the order book will be open.
No other info attached, and no changes to toyota.it website by now.
I immediately submitted the form, and sent a message to my dealer to know whether they finally received full info about allocations, specs, prices...
I will keep you posted

Was bored, sorry if I missed any countries.

Some showing the original car, some both, France as we know you can order and Denmark with a reserve button with no link.

Only had a quick scan of each, someone may be able to find something we don't know already - likely they'll all be updated at the same time and on these links.
