GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Apart from the fact that I think the changes in the Special Edition are...well...

You don't have to pay double the vehicle price for a cool gray and you are spared the French flag :). With so few pieces of the SpecialOne, you can expect a surcharge of at least 50%, i think more. With that money, I'm personally in a different vehicle category.

Not sure you're spared the french flag, looks like it's on the front grille and wheels still?

I'm guessing these were the cars announced in 2023 Auto Salon but upgraded now to MK2's?

And one thing that's annoyed me about the MK2 interior. The vents don't line up. The left hand side is lower than the right!

These will be the ones that retain money though.

Is it worth it? The buyers will think so.

Everyone knows... when they make 100 or 200 of them. If the cars are unaffordable, they will only be bought by people who have too much money and stored in a hall forever and ever. Of course they will increase in value, but I don't think even 10% of them will actually end up on the street.

Ok, this is interesting.

GR Yaris special editions: How can I get one?

The Ogier Edition and Rovanperä Edition will be built in strictly limited numbers. Details of ordering and sales in European markets will be announced at a later date by national distributors. So watch this space!

GR Yaris Info.webp

Dealer who supplied my GR86 sent me this when I asked if he had any info on the special editions.

Shared on the 12th, but thanks for sharing.

He seems to think they will still be under the £40k mark. But time will tell.

Apparently they were going to offer them first to the original waiting list people but then decided to not do it that way.

I would think that it would be very messy as people on the list probably either got one by other means or moved on to other vehicles.

Well it seems a few more cars have come to market recently, my last post a week back had 131 for sale, today 149, I think a few are setting themselves up for the MK2, as a context to go by, there was 40 GR86 for sale when there was 131 GRY for sale, today there are still 40 GR86 for sale, (not all the same ones) seems to be around 1 sells and 1 new one arrives to the market per day. This is using Autotrader.
Well today we have 170 GRY for sale, so it’s clear plenty are positioning for the new one, for context, we still have 40 GR86 for sale, this is using Auto trader.

Interested in where the extra production capacity is coming from, given that like the Mk1 it is pretty much hand made.
So the Mk1 production ends when the Mk2 production begins?

Comparing cars registered in the UK that means there is just very slightly a higher percentage of 86’s for sale than Yaris.

3.9% GR86
3.4% GRY

I don't think there is too much production difference. G16E based models currently in production are all more limited in allowance than the original GR Yaris. Even the Corolla is quite a low global allowance.

Unsure whether this has been posted, but it's Sebastien Ogier talking about his special edition and driving one of the wrapped prototypes - presumably not an Ogier edition as it's an auto. The grey looks more silver than grey to me. o_O
