GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Tempted with the auto, but if it's £40k+ in the UK then that will be really annoying due to the tax issue.
Plus, don't forget any new car in 2024 onwards will have the speed limiter issue. So expect another button to press and turn it off when you get in and drive...

a bit more regarding UK orders.
  • Ordering available from March - all to be done online, not in centre. (This is so TGB can manage allocation)
  • Production starts in April 24'
  • Demo's with dealers June 24'
  • Customer deliveries due to arrive q3 24'.
Looking forward to crashing the website in March then. Hope their IT team is ready.

Looks like many improvements all round which is quite enticing, however like others, the jury is out on that dash. Quite off putting, but it may be different once you're in the car.

Not sure there's enough to warrant to upgrade my GRY but will keep a close eye on developments as we get closer to launch. I like the non-fussiness of the current car, and very fond of the analog dials!

I like the whole gravel setting etc (like Evos with the snow tarmac gravel AYC button), not that I’d ever use it. Having read the Toyota website a bit more, including the small print, I think the anti lag / cooling mode plus other additional track settings are a Japan only thing? Interesting to know if that would change or be unlockable as it’s GPS linked to specific tracks there by the looks of things - see footnote 5.

I also love the Pearlescent Scarlet Flare Red paint on my GRY. Not sure whether it will be different to the new 'Emotional Red' colour, which could be a flatter colour. The Red is not mentioned as Pearlescent in the Toyota press release.

My thoughts about this car. I had the original but didn't love it enough, the seat height and visibility bugged me. I always thought it needed a bit more power too. However I didn't give it chance and stupidly sold it, always regretted that decision so on that alone I'm in for the MK2.

It seems a better car all round except that the new dash is bit marmite and I'm on the fence with that a minute. Though I like the digital display, I love analogue dials but the original cars dials looked a bit cheap for my liking.

The other thing that concerns me is the ISA system. There's limited information on that and how annoying it'll be. Unfortunately might have to take a chance on it and wait for the test drive.

All that said if I still had my MK1 I probably wouldn't upgrade.

Sidenote, same auto driveline now also in a Lexus... inhttps://www.motor1.com/news/704320/lexus-lbx-morizo-rr-concept/

Gonna watch more vids then give my first impressions on the tech
Interesting! Is that the Yaris Cross in a Lexus format ?

Hmmm can I justify this? possibly not. I work from home mostly, M25 commute and the weekends are for the GR86.
Could it be a Winter / bad weather car I suppose

Yeahh there is a list of additional features unlocked when you get to a track - I think it might be Japan specific though but never know.
