GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

I reckon you can get a new engine…..

It’s pretty standard for engineers to disable dashcams during servicing.
Yes, and I would have been fine with that.... unfortunately they kept it active throughout the maintenance, the entire update... and when they were taking it out because it was finished, they unplugged it.... quite strange, it really seems like they want to hide something 😂

can't you pull some info from your Toyota app to see how the car was driven? Average speed and consumption should be enough to figure it out.

This is why you always snap a pic of the odometer. It will jump a couple of km if they take it out for a joy ride.

I know for sure that they did 2.5km… but it's how they did it that I don't know… the app didn't record any "trip"… but in my opinion with the car in service mode it doesn't record anything… in any case, even if they did an average of 50 km/h, they could have gone slowly or fast… I mean, they could have done 50 km/h full gas or 50 km/h accelerating slowly.

Yes, boost is very limited when the car is cold. It won’t get to full temperature in only 2.5 km.
On the Mk1 the boost is limited as well as revs. Would think the same is true for the Mk2.
Has anyone had the courage to try it? 😂 Maybe they let it warm up while stationary and then shifted it a few gears, I'll never know... so both revs and boost are limited?! I'm really happy with that...

Yes, have been caught out pulling out of a junction when cold and had to floor it, you get less than 0.5bar and rev cut is around 6k

My view is Toyota feel those are safe, by all means don't drive like you stole it when cold but for those type of "oh crap" situations its safe enough once in a blue moon.

Are you sure it wouldn't have gone beyond 0.5 boost?! I mean, did you press the accelerator a lot, and even at "high" rpm, were you using a lot of throttle? Under the same circumstances, what pressure would you have seen when warm? I'm asking to understand... but I think Toyota did the right thing by limiting it when cold... especially to protect themselves from damage from incompetent people...

What's going on there?
