GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

200 has been mentioned by the press, but you'll not see anything from Toyota showing that number, so who knows.
 
I was told 600 this year but that seems way off looking at the limited ballot results. Kind of glad as not sure it is worth £46k and inflated road tax. Best get back looking at Porsche or a new M2.



Hopefully Toyota will get me a slot now 🤣
 
I am disappointed for all of you who missed out. Just remember you still have a fantastic car and have just saved a lot of money and are probably being encouraged to use and enjoy what you have.
I just hope we don't see a lot of YouTube influencers such as Mat Watson on CarWow "luckily" get one and start showing off their new Mk2 in a few months. That would leave a sour taste in the limited "lottery" process.

A few of us think that. Hmm... Yeah wonder how many "YouTube influencers" or Toyota big wigs manage to get one.... Total lottery tho. 🙄

And that is one of my concerns I need a test drive to see if the auto and the new EU speed limiter electronics are liveable but there is the risk of the unknown. However I was one of the first with a Yaris back in December 2020 and other than a few niggles it’s been fine so I hope it’s replicated.

When my car was in for its MOT I had the displeasure of running a 23 plate Aygo courtesy car. I was expecting it to be gutless and awful (it was) but not expecting the constant chiming from the speed alert bollocks. I only had to drive it 10 minutes to work but I wanted to crash it into a tree and kill it with fire.

There is no way in hell I could stomach that every day. It’d be like Mark Drakeford tapping you on the shoulder and coughing whilst you’re having sex. f**k that noise. I think aftermarket tuners with hidden kill switches will do a roaring trade.

The gearbox of the CTR has lots of problems. One of which is consistent grinds. Arguably much less reliable than a GRY.

Has the 2nd gear grind happened to your FL5 yet?

I heard about the famous 1-2 shift grind in the FK8. Before FL5 is even officially announced, someone here asked if Honda may have ironed it out. Well, it happened today. I was almost done with a short cruise after a snack. Tried to pull away from finish yielding for the last car coming so I...

Thanks for the heads up on that issue. I will be buying 2nd hand, so hoping any issues like that would have been dealt with, plus I will test drive anyway and will now check for that! All of the Japanese cars I have owned (Mazda/Toyota/Honda) have all had some sort of gearbox "issues" crunchy 2nd gear until warmed up, lumpy clutch, etc...
 

How does he get so much legroom while everybody else is complaining about it?
 
Are there any news of production for Mk2 orders? My dealer said delivery in late September, but the toyota app does not even show that the production has started.

To me it's beyond weird. It's a dream. I guess we got something in exchange for the ISA that has to be deactivated each time the engine is started.

Definitely, it's dream to me as well, I can't believe it actually.

In the video linked here https://www.gr-zoo.com/threads/gr-yaris-mk2-my2024.3989/post-104019 I remember that the driver sets the most sporty engine mode, and he's very happy while saying that finally every control is off, if I understood well.
That would be a even better dream to me!
