GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

If I remember correctly, I saw in a video that the brake duct is divided into two sections, with the upper part connected to a hose that leads somewhere into the engine bay.
Ah makes sense. The hose comes out by the inlet manifold. Which also makes sense as it gets very hot there.

Edit: By not enthusiastic I mean it's nice, but I would have preferred it different… anyway I'm also Italian 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻but with a German car and a JBL system, I thought that was what made the difference... well better this way... but I was already happy because the automatics don't have the start/stop... on my Seat Leon it's a pain having to always remember to deactivate it

To add to your crazy, I have an automatic, from Italy, and it doesn’t have the option to meddle with interior sound… 🤯 🤌
I confirm… I'm crazy, I tried again too and I don't notice much difference... maybe slightly with anc active.... I don't know... I thought I was crazy too... just in case I leave it deactivated 😂 and I spent 70+15 euros for carista for nothing 😓

Edit: I apologize to ecsrobin for doubting his information 😅… anyway I would like to justify myself by saying that at 400km I deactivated ese and anc and at 600km (the next day) I changed the exhaust… maybe I spoke out of “inexperience” with the various sounds of the car… 😓 if you want I have a little-used carista 😂😂😂

It’s quite alright much to my wife’s annoyance I’m always right 🤣

Does anyone have a site where I could find OEM parts? I'm looking for an internal plastic but I don't know where to look... tomorrow I'll call the dealership but they never have availability for these cars

I might speak to parts department at Toyota dealership and get part number and then just search with part number online.

Amayama has the full parts diagrams for the mk1 and mk2, you might find what you're looking for but many parts are listed as out of stock atm, which I guess is the same issue the dealership has since they probably order from the same wharehouses.

unfortunately I already looked… and I'm seriously worrying and almost regretting having taken the gr… because if by bad luck it breaks, what do I do if the pieces don't arrive?!

I might have missed it if someone has already mentioned so apologies in advance if you have. But I’ve just seen Aus are getting/got the Mk2 same spec as the UK dubbed the GTS for 66k AUS$ equivalent to just under £32k…. Bargain!

And France, Ireland and the Netherlands it’s £100k or there about’s so we also get a bargain.

What did your dealer say? I have had no issues with receiving parts within a few days including a Europe spec bumper.

I looked for the paddle cable and Toyota Italy said: "unattainable" so I got it on partsouq, now I was looking for an internal plastic and Amayama doesn't have it either, Toyota Italy must respond.... anyway I ask the more experienced: the other day I took a quiet ride and had normal temperatures... I arrive at destination with oil at 96 degrees and water 92.... I turn it off... after a few minutes I turn on only the dashboard and see water temperature 105... as soon as I turn it on it goes back to 91... I'm used to VWs that even when turned off have an electric pump that makes the liquid circulate, here I imagine not... but does the head gasket do anything? Is it true that some in track days with MK1 saw 130 degrees?

Yes no electric pump after engine off.

Over 120 or 125 deg (can’t remember) the car tells you to pull over and switch off. In 25deg heat with Airtec stage 1 intercooler at the Nurburgring I get 93-95 constant without using the intercooler sprayer.

have you ever noticed this thing if you turn it off and after 3 minutes if you turn it back on it's at 105?! anyway I didn't understand the part about the intercooler, what does it affect the engine temperatures? anyway you have to activate the sprayers little, the water runs out after a little while 😂

Sorry the talk of water temps and oil temps and then I confused myself to the question 🤣 with an oil cooler I’m getting those consistent temps when pushing very hard.

no I'm only talking about water temperature... it's the water temperature that I see at 105 if I just turn on the ignition after a few minutes... if I turn on the engine it drops to 90 in a few seconds

Does anyone know why the noise is different in cold start in addition to the higher engine revs? In other cars I only noticed the high revs, but in the Yaris it almost seems like there is a valve open that makes it make noise... and with the modified exhaust it is more noticeable.... does it open the wastegate by any chance?!
