GR86 For those that are interested, a couple of vids of me at Spa, don't laugh too loud!

Thanks for posting the footage. It's a great place to visit. I went there for WEC ages ago (the first year Toyota joined but they didn't run at Spa because the car wasn't ready) and it's true what they all say about everything being a lot steeper when you're there in person. I imagine it's quite daunting heading up Aue Rouge with that unsighted crest.
I'd love to drive around Spa, although I have to say the barriers look quite close in some parts and I'm not very good at holding back :ROFLMAO:. It least you managed overcook it at the chicane and not one of the high-speed sections.
 
It was quite early on, maybe lap 5. Running before I could walk. There is a nasty bump and adverse camber at the entry. I tried to gas it too early and just spun out. If you watch the last car, the Red Audi, you can see the car lose its composure but managed to hold it!
 
The kids laugher at the back made me smile đŸ™‚
Envy you the opportunity to visit the track in this car, must have been thrilling moment!
 
At Goodwood GRRC days you can just book the afternoon. Often it will end up as an open pit lane session. Great value, comparatively.
 
That looks fun and the spin looked pretty harmless. Who was laughing at the end?

it was just some canned laughter to hide out the conversation between me and the passenger! I managed to just light graze the rim of the alloy on the kerb, no other lasting damage otherwise.

Thank you for the kind words. With the empty track after lunch, I was getting to know the circuit and starting to push harder. Unfortunately rising oil temps stops play after around 5 laps, hitting 125deg C. Once I came in to let it cool down, the dredded showers had appeared and I called it a day.

but you still have the same issue.... Everyone is eager from the get go and you'll never get the post lunch lull that you get with a full day.

I end up just chilling after the sighting laps, whist everyone is out on track, I just take my time swapping over wheels and getting the car empty of junk ready to go on. Takes around 30-45mins, which by then, the initial lot are all back in the pit either taking a break or fixing the cars :)

Great footage. What car was that ahead of you in the first video? Clearly pulling away from you on the straits but you were catching them on the bends. Good effort.
Did you make any mods to the brakes before you tracked? I think I saw you posted some pictures elsewhere of some very cooked pads and some shredded tyres!

The car in front was a Lotus of some sort, most probably an Exige. I had no chance with the Lotus but I assume the driver was a beginner, hence the lack of speed.

I run 4 pot Brembos up front. Cooked pads weren't me but I did have pics of tyres that had a good time. :ROFLMAO:
