I clicked "keep me informed" on 28th April 23. Also emailed dealerships nearby to express my interest, no reply from them though.
My friend clicked "keep me informed" in May 23 but hasn't even received the "join the waitlist" email.
I wonder if I was actually put on the list by the dealerships.

I don't think it was the dealers - April 28th would have done it for you.

Your friend not being invited to join the wait-list is messed up. Unless he missed an email in his junk folder or something.

Careful you might be refreshing for a while, it took some of us in the original batch over two months before we heard anything else for Toyota after paying the £1,000 deposit. :ROFLMAO:

This is the odd thing. I joined on the original date last year but have never received an invite to buy from that email. I then joined using another email about 3 weeks ago and now have an invite to buy on that email.

Blimey, that's quite messed up. Unless they've linked your name to your previous position on the list. I joined over a month ago, and confirmed at the same time as everyone else, but no invite yet.

23/06/23 - Registered to be kept up to date.
03/07/23 - officially joined the waiting list.
12/07/23 - Request my GR email came and paid the 1k deposit.

I hope everyone that wants one gets one.

Ok, so Toyota aren't doing it in order then. I registered a couple of weeks earlier, officially joined on the same day as you, but haven't had an invite yet.

That’s pretty poor. Guessing you’ve tried ringing them? I was under the impression it was being done on a first come first serve basis.

They perhaps do it from the time registered to join the official waiting list and not the initial register for more info/updates list. The waiting list email came through to me at 15:29 on 03/07 and I clicked through at probably 16:00 on the same day.

The dealer I arranged my test drive at told me this morning without any prompting that he believes there are 400 cars in this new batch…

To be honest I'm not surprised. Toyota made a complete mess of the buying process from day 1.

What colour have you settled on? Is there a thread with the most popular colours?

I have the email and a test drive tomorrow (delayed from this afternoon) to show SWMBO the car

The red demonstrator in Deeside is gorgeous so it's really thrown me but IF the boss lady approves the purchase she can choose the colour

I hadn't when you posted, as they don't open until 10, but I have now. Not much help so far. They said it was based on when you joined the 'keep me informed' list, but that's clearly not the case if you only joined it 3 weeks ago. I'll try again tomorrow.

I haven’t decided yet, test driving a silver one on Saturday and hopefully make my mind up thereafter. Swaying towards grey, though.

I registered to be kept updated on the 30/04/23, then joined the official waiting listing on 03/07/23 pretty much instantly after getting the email at 2.30pm. No email invite as yet. Shame as I saw the car last weekend at a Toyota dealer and it looks awesome.
