Looks like Toyota may have more GR86s than the number on the original waiting list

Yeah but there's nothing like picking up a brand new car from the dealership though is there hehe.I also had the email this afternoon as well.
As I missed the original allocation, I bought a ‘flipped’ car that had only done mileage from the dealer to the original purchasers house, so effectively as new a car as possible, all be it at a £3k premium.
So, if I had managed to get one on the latest batch, would mean that I have ended up paying about the same for my flipped car as I would on the latest batch. Plus, I have had the use of the car for the last 6 months, and as I plan to keep it long term, no to bad a result overall![]()
I think they were just checking that those who registered interest, or were on the list, were still interested. Now they have a list of people who say they are ready to buy. How many cars they have, and how many on the list is the big question.I got the email too which was strange... I thought I was already on the waiting list
Because of this I think you'll see some really good lease deals in the next few months. We are going through a massive cost of living crisis. Cheap credit is dead. The lease deals are absolutely terrible at the moment. Only way is to really buy out right or with a large cash deposit with a small loan on top. (I have done the latter). Not surprising a lot of people are passing on them.
It is no different to the early 90's when cars just wouldn't sell. Less GR86's on the road just means higher residuals for the owners.
I can't see there being that many ~ 450 plus demos (50?) and maybe 200 in this allocation? Can't blame toyota for releasing more, I think as someone else had said, if there is a demand for the GR86, it would seem crazy not to make profit and sell as many as they could before they can't.
Makes me think the 400 to 1000 will end up being u to 2000 cars in the UK.
Good to see enthusiasts buying them rather then flippers.
That's a hard decision. I have a 718 and my plan was to sell that when I get the GR. But the 718 has grown on me recently so am keeping it and the GR at least in the short term. Doesn't make Financial sense but may not get another chance.Yeah me as well. Not sure whether to trade my bmw 230i in for a Gr86.
I was tempted by white but went red in the end (and almost a late swerve to Sapphire Blue).Yeah it's like this is the only chance of a brand new one. I know if I do decide to go for one it will be in White.
Well, well, it looks like I got my wish
Now to decide on colour. Hmm
