I am having a problem with my DTUK V2 box which was fitted to GRY.
The Bluetooth function has stopped working.
I contacted DTUK a number of times and finally got a initial response.
Now they have basically Ghosted me and won't respond.
I am living in Australia which does not help the situation.
I don't like posting on a forum to call-out companies like this but considering I paid 530 Pounds in January 2022 I am a little pissed off about the situation.
Anyone else had warranty issues ?.

I believe there's a dedicated WhatsApp group organised by the the DTUK supplier in the UK. Have you tried contacting them there?

I have a couple of friend that have had issues with them on other cars and they had no luck, seems once they have your money thats it.

I’d also use WhatsApp as he tends to be active there. He’s also on this forum

My two cents: DTUK cares about customers, there is a lot of support (here and on WhatsApp and by email). For the Bluetooth problem: This is (quite sure) not a fault of DTUK and definitively no warranty issue. It's Bluetooth, which can be tricky, but it'll work - at least for me and other people following the written instructions.

Bye for now Fred

Thanks for the replies.
You can keep your two cents worth to yourself because in this case (quite sure) you don't know what has actually happen and you just sound bloody arrogant.
The BT use to work no problem. I had not change a Map for about 6 months or bother to connect to my phone. When I did I spent a couple of hours exhausting ever method I could think of trying to pair the Box to a device. I don't give up easily.
I have had plenty of experience connecting BT to different devices. I BT connect to a work vehicle nearly every day. I have had BT fail before. Its not as uncommon as you may think.
I have deleted and reinstalled the App multiply times, tried 3 different android devices and an iPhone.
The BT function has failed its as simply as that.

Sekred, I know I know a nothing. It's just you blame a man/company who tries to give maximum support. Sorry to sound arrogant, experiences may vary. I just know that people tend to complain about logs of wood not seeing the little splitter in their own eye. Try again, not your way (which seems not to work), try the official way and tell us what happened.
How to reset Bluetooth: watch
How to pair Bluetooth: watch
How to pair/install: read

Bye for now Fred

Thanks for another reply Fred. Its a forum so you have a right to reply I suppose.
This reply is useful, because it has Links to click on.
I like Links :) .

Fred, although not my personal experience but that of my two close friends, that man/company definitely does not have any interest in being a decent respectable trader that is willing to actually support customers in the event of goods being faulty.
Yes there’s a whats app group which is fine for people who have a working product but if they don’t there is No support in any way from this man/company, in the UK they fit the bill as rouge traders/con men that know exactly what they can get away with and they really don’t care about taking innocent consumers money and keeping it even if they supplied a faulty or unsuitable product.

I know nothing of your issue but this response is unreasonable. Post on a public forum asking a question and then post a sarcastic shitty response to someone trying to offer help.
A simple polite response would have been fine, instead you come across as a dick.

really makes people want to help you

I agree. Fred has always seemed like a very helpful, friendly chap to me and his first reply was helpful. You just didn’t like what he was trying to tell you.

It’s very easy to have a bad experience with a person or company and then demonise them. I’ve seen both sides of this on many occasions and some traders/vendors decide that once a customer has decided they are the devil incarnate then there’s no point wasting time on them.

That said, it sounds like you’ve had a crappy customer experience and deserve some sort of response, which you haven’t had.

Hope you get it sorted. Be nice. This isn’t Pistonheads.

Fair enough. You guys who are critical of my response to Fred are entitled to your opinion but I stand by my response, you can like or lump it.
I called the response bloody arrogant and pointed out why in a round about way.
By the way Iam a dick and have been called a lot worse than that.
The thread is about DTUK and their lack of Customer support, don't derail it.
Its really not about me.

@Sekred I understand your frustration, we are isolated here and the logistics are poor for communication, you can't just roll up and talk to them. Having said that it seems that others have had an issue also. I do not have the product and can offer nothing constructive about fixing it or getting the supplier to the party however:

Have you tried the steps noted above regarding bluetooth connection?
Have you tried contacting the supplier through here or whatsapp?
Perhaps contact @Dodger privately and get in touch with those he knows who have had issues and see whether there is some common thread or some alternative way to get assistance.

For what it is worth attacking other members who are simply offering some thoughts is not going to get anyone else posting just in case you choose to bite their heads off too. This is a very friendly and quiet forum and while not everyone sees eye to eye with all opinions and suggestions there is no point it getting angry.

I will see if I can get in touch with Andrew for you. I’ve had prior discussions with him, and though I have no experience of this issue, his product or his company, I don’t think many of us are able to help as much as he might be able to.

Ok, as a follow up @Sekred, having spoken to Andrew he’s asked that you please try to get back in contact with them.

Unfortunately he’s off work currently dealing with some family issues, which may have something to do with the lack of success you’re having getting in touch. I can only suggest keep trying (as annoying as that might be!)

In any other circumstance I would push Andrew to ensure this gets sorted, but as with anything, family and life must come before work, so I hope you understand. Aside from that, I hope your issue is resolved. Feel free to reach out to me directly if not, I’m happy to try and support where I can.

@Sekred please send an email across to [email protected]

If you can include your personal details then I can take a look into your module history etc.

Unfortunately over the last 6 months I’ve not been as active online due to my wife’s health issues, so if you’ve not received a reply to any emails then this is wasn’t intentional. The warranty is valid and it doesn’t cost us anything to replace boxes, as they’re replaced by our supplier. It makes no financial sense to us not to honour any warranties.

as others have said I am still active within the WhatsApp groups but my time is limited. We have had a few Bluetooth issues, that when we test the boxes they work perfectly. This is why we ask customers to make sure they’re following the reset videos to the letter, as if one single thing isn’t followed it can cause issues.

So once I’ve seen your email I’ll reply, but olease
Note that I won’t be replying to this post as I simply don’t have the time spare to deviate from our support emails/phone calls/WhatsApp 👍

Cheers 👍 I’m still about, just not 18/24/7 that I used to be :) - hopefully the poster will make
Contact and I can hopefully
Solve his issues. If not then the module will have to be shipped back to us :)

As long as a box has been bought direct from ourselves and within the warranty period, then as above it makes no difference to me if I replace a box or not, as this is covered by our supplier. The issues arises if someone’s bought a used box as there is no warranty on second hand boxes 👍

I’m not saying I’m perfect, as I’ll be honest I’ve missed more emails in the last 6 months than I have in the previous 18 years. But again if a customer has a genuine issue then the simple thing to do is pick up the phone ☎️

I think I’ve found you on our emails Sakred, and explained that since the cables were damaged when you’re son removed the tuning box, then that’s going to make it virtually impossible to test the box.

But as above we can continue this conversation via email, but again if you don’t receive a reply then please feel free to WhatsApp myself via +447977466007
