Shouldn’t be much longer - I ordered some via my local Toyota dealer in mid-late August and they arrived less than three weeks later.

I would’ve joined the group buy but needed them in advance of some audio work on Wed 24th and didn’t want to take the risk - thought it made sense to get the audio company to do the fix as they’re taking the doors apart anyhow!

Problem solved. Having read something on the US(?) site about using two washers on each side the audio chaps tried it with one and two per side and ended up going with two to totally eliminate the clicking.

With a bit of soundproofing added, the doors almost feel like they belong to a premium car now…

So you need two to completely get rid of the noise? I was going to put one on each door, even though only my drivers side clicks, just for good measure. If that's not enough I'll put them both on the drives side.

Lol American forums crack me up.

There is now a fix!

Hurray!...

... Now within a month people have decided it's now not good enough, is the wrong material and isn't thick enough based on absolutely no evidence or engineering assessment.

Now looking to source double thick washers forged from adamantium.

😅

Hi folks, for those in the group buy, I've chased up Toyota direct parts today. I'm hoping it wont be too much longer, my drivers side window is really quite bad now, it cracks badly 100% of the time now.

I am still waiting for one person within the poll to reach out to me. I've heard from the following:

Conscript
MorrisM
Cambman
Cubone
Orro
Grblue86
sim86
leosayer
KobayashiMaru86
...

I think it might be worse in the cold. It always makes me wince, but it's really quite pronounced at the moment.

Yeah mine is, I feel like something wants to break 😖 passenger side seems fine though for some reason.

I introduced the phenomenon to the dealer this morning as I dropped off the car for its 2-year service. I've been asked to bring in the photographic details which appeared earlier on here so they can see exactly what's what. They confirmed it as a warranty issue, so I'll have to book it in as appropriate. I'll be taking the washers I ordered via ZN8 (hopefully in original packaging) as I don't want the "we'll put on order" routine.

Hi Paul they will 100% come to you in any packaging they are shipped in.

@Conscript I know you can barely contain your excitement! I'll get these posted out tomorrow.

Kind of regretting not going in for this group buy. Feel like getting this done under warranty in January is going to be like pulling teeth.

Group buy folks these have been posted today. Can you drop me a PM or message in this thread to let me know you received them please.

Met up with @ZN8 today and picked up the washers he'd kindly bought. Fitted them as soon as I got home. Very easy to do, only fiddly bit is carefully peeling back the vapour barrier in a way that you can reattach it.

It's amazing. BEST MOD EVER.

nice one! looks like the sealer/gunk is still sticky so assume it rebonded ok?
Yes. You can just peel it back carefully. I used a razor blade to help slice it away; just be careful not to cut the actual plastic membrane.
When you're done, you can just carefully reposition the membrane and re-stick the mastic stuff.
