Morris ...amazing work, thank you!
Now just to see if we can find that part...although hopefully just any off the shelf rubber washer might do.

Ah this is great. So glad there is finally a fix for this, and also one which is so ridiculously simple.

I've sent an email to Toyota Direct Parts to see if they can get hold of SU003-12334, with the hope they will stock it so we can just buy it straight off the website.

Let us know if they come back to you. Although it looks pretty straightforward, it does mean peeling that weather liner back and that's not something I want to do several times as eventually it might break down enough not to stick. So if it's possible to get hold of the new part easily I'll wait, rather than just attempting it with a standard washer.

As an addendum, I wonder why it only ever seems to be one window which clicks, and why it seems to differ by region. From everything I've read, it always seems to be only the drivers door at fault, whether LHD or RHD. Obviously the window regulators must be handed depending on their fitted side, but if the flaw is to do with the design of that specific pivot point, you'd expect it to affect the same side for all cars. Curious.

I fired up my old laptop this morning as it had a VPN on it so I could take a look on Minkara. There isn't anything more to add from what MorrisM posted, the washer does look like it's a fiber washer, if we can't get hold of it over here (we all know what TGB are like) I'd be inclined to fit a nylon washer as opposed to a conventional metal one.

Oddly showing as ‘not available’ at amayama.com…

I must be the only one with this happening to my passenger window

Oh, I stand corrected. My passenger window has always been fine. About a month ago, even the drivers side seems fine for a few days after the car wasn't driven for a week, and I was just thinking that maybe it had fixed itself until I got out of the car and...crack :/

Mine still does it. I'll bring it up at service in November. I'm dreading the process of going through warranty. Some dealers make it difficult.

Let me see if I can guess how a dealer visit for this might pan out:
- Leave it with the dealer for a day, with a detailed description of the issue and instructions on how to replicate it (i.e., 'just open the f'in door') on the drivers seat.
- Drive away in a courtesy car if you're lucky.
- Hear nothing.
- Ring them at 4.30PM "Oh, we couldn't replicate the noise"
- Collect car.
- Rebook a second visit so you can demonstrate the noise in person.
- Go back later.
- Grab technician by his scruff and make him sit in the car while you wind your window up and down until he goes "Oh yeah, that noise"
- Rebook a third visit for it to be fixed.
- Leave it with the dealer for a (third) day. Drive away in a courtesy car if you're lucky.
- Hear nothing.
- Ring them at 4.30PM "Oh Toyota said they won't cover it as they all do that sir"
- Sell car out of rage. Import Subaru BRZ.

Yeah, I think I'll just pop to B&Q and get hold of some nylon washers.

And after all that still wash the car, even though you've told them explicitly not to.

I brought it up at my service just over a month ago. They said they adjusted something (they were also checking for scratches in the glass) and it did make the noise disappear, but it came back the next day đŸ˜§
