GR Yaris (Gen 2) Armijs GR YARIS MK2

One question, did you get the Ragazzon GPF delete for MK1 or MK2 ?
I have to wait till April

Anyway, this scales my plans for the perfect comparison down a lot. Will be missing the sound of Stock back box + GPF delete that i imagine would be interesting for many, to hear the difference. but oh well, maybe someday if i decide to fit back the OEM back exhaust...

I ordered it for the GR2 with the small muffler since I have the Milltek non-resonated exhaust installed, and if I had gone with the straight pipe, it would have been way too loud.

Right, so the exhaust is here ! Already put the electric valve in place, removed the homologation blanking, checked that the electric valve works.

Surprise surprise, the exhaust should go on the car today !

Cant wait ! Did all the missing recordings for OEM exhaust for the comparison this morning.

I can now say with a 100 % certainty that MK2 automatic DOES have ANC and definetly ESE :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
This morning i was very suprised going for the first time out with them both deactivated, and the cabin noise was much silenter that with OEM exhaust, ANC/ESE on with valve closed, sound in the cabin is mostly like stock exhaust just the tone is nicer, with flap open, louder deeper sound note, another thing i will have to include in the interior sound recording comparison !

For ESE, you can just change it from the vehicle panel in the multimedia display, I switched mine off after 5 mins of getting the car. There are 4 settings IIRC: High, Medium, Low, and Off.

Out of interest, is that as fast as the auto can shift gears?
More or less, yeah. Good enough for me by any means.
But that is a loaded question out of these samples you saw in my video, i am not going full tilt that much, and in regular driving gearbox tries to be smooth and when manually changing gears, they are instantaneous almost.

Well, here is the finished comparison,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to make and share the videos. I would like to replace the OEM exhaust on mine and with limited options for the gen 2, it is not obvious to decide whether to go for it or wait. I had an HKS HI-power SPEC-L II on my gen 1, which was great, but is unfortunately not available for the gen 2.

On the ulter, it sounds like there is quite a noticeable difference between stock and the ulter with the valve closed, but then not so much of a difference between the ulter value closed and valve open. In real life, do you notice more of a difference? Any dB readings for the valve closed and open, please?
Do you know how the weight of the ulter compares with stock?

Lastly, any pictures of the button and your install location for the valve controller?

Thanks again!

Hey, thanks !

The best comparison would be the idle RPM, with Valve open it is deeper, and on revving on the spot, open is not so ratly as closed, less metalic vibration sound, so yes, especially in these two situation the difference is notable, as Ulter said themselves, the Electric valve does not do a full 90 degree turn, so the valve is always a little bit OPEN, if you do not install the electric component then it is fully closed with metallic blanking plate, but i dont know how that would sound, the exhaust is heavier i think than oem. i did not do DB recording, maybe in the future. And the button is a battery powered remote around my neck, 2x of them in the kit. Installing of the Valve wiring will come some time later, i have it all filmed, is not hard at all !
