Ok thanks. Mine is also approx 0,5s faster with HJS/IC and less then 0,1bar boost add sub 6k rpm.

So all that makes sense.

What doesn't is that your (early) car is so f****** fast 😬. Maybe it was mapped before without your knowing? It has happened before...
Haha maybe so, but highly doubtful since I bought mine from the dealer and an employee of this dealership was the only owner before me.

First run still, looking for a good stretch of road too many hills and bends around here :)

Anyway pretty happy sub 6s MST, 3” straight pipe, GPF delete. Looks like I was slightly off the throttle maybe a curve and this was full tank 95RON so there is a little more time to come.

What sort of power is it making? Have you put it on a dyno?
 
This thread seems to have died, I think this is a really good real world test. So, update from me I ran a 5.41s post remap, i'll have a bit more of a play it does seem more consistent 5.5 since the re-map. Whilst I did post a valid 5.7 before the remap most runs were hovering around 6s so with the re-map giving 0.5 improvement. :cool:

  • Custom 3” SS Exhaust GPF delete

Found my Dragy in the glovebox (I’d forgotten all about it!) and realised I’d never tested the Ecutek remap. That was the point of me getting the thing in the first place, to see what each mod did 🙄😅

Anyway, in almost identical conditions and with the same full tank of fuel I had on previous runs, on the same stretch of road next to the Mosel, it’s clearly consistently faster.

Stock: ~6.40s
Original V1 DTE box: ~6.10s, with a best of 6.06s
Updated DTUK flash: ~6.05s, with a best of 6.02s
Ecutek ECU remap (running map 1): ~5.75s, with a best of 5.68s

what is your power estimate?
 
No idea, really. Got to be around 300 hp though I would say, based on what Litchfield, Whifbitz etc. claim, and what others who have dyno’d their cars have seen.
 
Pondering the 'what power' thing, on the basis that there should be a relationship between posted times and power, almost linear, it should be possible to extrapolate - very roughly! - the power from 'known' values, that is a stock car and Greenthumb's.

Doing that, and attempting to fit other times to the curve yields this.

looks legit. it helps in 3rd gear pull if you have heaps of mid range torque as pull start from quite low.

Yes, the only factors (other than environmental) which should really matter in 50-130 are tractability and outright power.

Lowering boost threshold should be the best way to getting fast times, so it should be no surprise to see cars with downpipes and/or no GPF doing well.

Of course, there is obviously a lot of variability between cars (more than there should be with the vacuum sensor issues?) and wind, temperature, type pressure etc. will all have an impact so I would take the absolute figures with a pinch of salt, but I would reckon most will be ±2-3% of the figure shown by looking at a time.

At the end of the day it’s just physics, innit?

While most torque curve shape are similar for most power mods from 50km/h, with run up - should put you past the boost treshold already, some aren't. Like Ecutek that purposely hold back on torque and deliver more on peak power. Which I prefer because of longevity reasons and also sheer fun, revving out in each gear meaning there is some crescendo going on, while stock shape of power delivery is quite flat in the higher rpms. ..

Yes, but unless someone has done some serious work with cams/blueprinting, or they’re running a mahoosive turbo, I would say there’s a reasonable correlation between peak and average power.

After all, most people are still running the standard turbo and there’s only so much you can do with that.
