GR Yaris 50-130km/h Acceleration Leaderboard

Yes, but unless someone has done some serious work with cams/blueprinting, or they’re running a mahoosive turbo, I would say there’s a reasonable correlation between peak and average power.

After all, most people are still running the standard turbo and there’s only so much you can do with that.
depends if you run with peak boost available or not. as Onehp said to get better driving feel from the engine it is maybe not best to max out the mid range.

Which is the latest philosophy of the Ecutek maps?!

In the good old days before LSPI you wanted peak boost as soon as the turbo could deliver it. Now manufactures control how the boost builds early for reasons like torque steer, wheel traction and whatever else they can think of like LSPI and grandma driving you GR to the shops in the rain.
With the Motec I am getting peak boost about 800 to 1000rpm earlier than with the OEM ECU. Something you need to be wary off when you put your foot into it in 5th and 6th gear. I wonder how tuning the OEM ECU changes this.
The best boost control is probably your right foot.

Thanks for the effort. I did the same with 100-200km/h from the german 100-200 group on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/443435955859994

Measured from track session 13.9s 100-200kmh which is quite poor and car seems to loose its grunt on 5th gear.
acceleration starts in corner so it might drop the overall time abit, and it was a strong headwind.

Car was boosting mostly at 1.6bar but on higher speed boost dropped to 1.33bar. More or less same top speed on back straight as 2 years ago w/o ulter exhaust.
However, on main straight I managed to get 8kmh higher end speed (172 vs 180kmh), it goes to opposite direction than long back straight.

:D

Silver lining was that beat mk2 car with wider tyres (245 Yokohama vs 225 cup2) on lap time by 2.5s, so in real life driving mk2 is not 'that more' fast.

My best 100-200km/h is 12,56s.
My best 50-130km/h is 5,73s.

Specs: Eventuri, DTE Powercontrol RX, Aral 102 Ultimate and an Octane Booster. 1380kg with me. Tried the Octane Booster since the car heatsoaks a lot and my ordered FMIC was sent back due to a damage... :D Before the Octane Booster the car did a 12,86s 100-200km/h.

I've not focused on a 100-200 in this car. Curious to get a benchmark before fitting cams.

Around 14,5-15,0s being completely stock and 12,0-12,5s with DTUKV2, Exhaust and Eventuri fitted. Yours should be the same or faster since you got the Ecutek which has a better torque under the curve compared to the DTUKV2. So not the best results but completely in line with 4WD cars around 300hp. Actually most comparable cars are slower but people forget that since most modern VAG cars go easily below 10s.

I've also tried to collect some 100-200 data. I'm not happy with my usual testing location (this little 1.6 needs to cover some distance to hit 200kph) Looks to be around 11 flat while steering around a bend.

Skip 3rd gear and start with 4th and rev it out to put the new cams to the test. Since there is no loss downlow from the Kelford EZP they should be good for a broader powerband near redline as you mentioned yourself, still 5th is needed i guess to hit 200. :) Wonder how much revs are needed to be able to do a 100-200 all in 4th. :D

3rd-4th-5th seems to produce the best times 100-200. I expect due to the fact one spends more time at higher revs.

Data from tune updates. I'm pleased with this as I was running 60% fuel rather than the usual 25% and the DA was higher than last best run.

Thats quick. :) Im still waiting on my cams... and the clutch slips when shifting quick @6000rpm... :D Maybe i will get the clutch changed before cams before it gets to annoying.

I can't really use no lift shift as it's too much for the OE clutch. I need to be deliberate in clamping it down before getting on the power. That said I've been playing with the launch control RPM on ecutek and found 4500-5000 rpm to be just about acceptable. It's good for 4.0-4.1 0-60 times.
