The time is fast approaching for my first official service (changed oil & filter myself at ~1000 miles)
Since I've only covered 4K in the first year I'm keen to leave it as late as possible but not to invalidate the warranty. Anyone know what the cut off point is when the warranty becomes invalid ie. how many days after 365 there is a period of grace?

I had mine booked in for service today at local dealers. I was told last Thursday they couldn’t get the oil filter and it could be as late as January until they could get one. I then asked how many days after the anniversary of registration date I could have the service without it affecting any warranty and they said 30 days. Mine was registered 17/12/22.

I’m more annoyed that they canceled the service late notice and made a lame excuse about Toyota not having a filter available, I don’t think anybody else has had this issue?

I'm sure I saw some other posts mention the filters were out of stock. I specifically asked the dealer to get it in stock when I booked in a few weeks ago, so I can be sure they'll ignore that and cancel last minute.

Can’t see how they can penalise you when it’s their fault they can’t supply the parts for a service booking you’ve attempted to make in time to be compliant for any small print!

Maybe I was lucky, I took mine if for it's first service the weekend before last (Listers in Stratford Upon Avon), and no issues with parts out of stock.

Dropped mine off this morning and didn’t hear anything about filters until this afternoon.

Apparently they ordered one from Toyota which didn’t turn up and now been advised its on back order till January.

Fortunately they managed to locate one at a sister branch which is arriving tomorrow but will have to wait an extra day for it to be completed now.

Bit of a poor show by Toyota not having enough filters here when the first batch of cars are all coming up to a year old.

Must be all of us who swapped out oil and filter after 1,000 miles!!

Supposed to have mine done Saturday morning, booked 2nd Nov... we shall see!

I have made sure they have serviced at least one before yours!
My first service was done today - delivery/collection - all good with a little video.
Hope there is an oil filter left in the service dept ;)

Fingers crossed! I left my booking a bit later hoping that a few would go through before me! :ROFLMAO: Glad to hear it went smoothly (y)

Welp, just been informed earlier that the service I had booked with the dealer for tomorrow can't be carried out as they haven't received the filter.

Apparently it's on order and should be there in a week. Not sure how much I trust them with it.

I booked it a good 3 or 4 weeks ago too.

Good job I actually carried out an early engine oil and filter change at my local garage...

Picked up mine from service yesterday and all good.

Fortunate that another sister dealership had the filter in stock (he said the sister dealership had 4 on the shelf!).

They said they had ordered it from Toyota in advance of my service but had been given no indication it wasn’t arriving until the day of the service. Then subsequently told they are on back-order till January when they chased up as to why it wasn’t part of their parts delivery.

For reference it was RRG Huddersfield that presumably only has 3 on the shelf now 😜

Of course, the dealer called today to say there were no oil filters for tomorrow's service. Instead of cancelling I have bought one from the Subaru dealer just up the road who had 3 on the shelf.
It will be in service all day tomorrow, so if you see a blue one drifting around Bradford please message me.

Fair play to RRG Bradford, the service this time was spot on, and I even got a £100 discount for supplying my own filter and washer which cost ... £23

Service booked in for 10am this morning. Drove 65 miles, left car and no issues mentioned. 2 hours later go back to collect. “Wrong” filter arrived but they only noticed after completeing rest of service. New filter arriving tomorrow morning so I’m now home with no GR86 and a loan AygoX. To be fair garage we super apologetic and got me a loan car fully fueled without any queries.

Back up tomorrow to collect I hope.

Head tech didn't fancy me taking car away with new oil and old filter attached so this seemed better option.

Do you have a part number for that washer please? I have a filter but forgot the washer, so I may pop up to the Subaru dealership on Wednesday (or find one online).

Had my first service (now 12 months old and done 2500 miles) today at the supplying dealer Toyota Cardiff - it was originally Wilson’s but is now FRF. All seemed to go fine - I double checked before hand that they had the filter in stock and it seems they did! Also of note they seemed to hoover the inside but not wash the outside (I didn’t specify either way) so maybe it’s a standard “do not wash GRs”?
