GR Yaris 👎 Negatives - what annoys, disappoints, puzzles and generally irks you about the GR Yaris?

Good point lol, i have my work bag in there and not much else...

I drop the seats if much more is required!! But usually take the wife's Cupra estate instead, as that is the dog kennel!
 
But if you're looking for something in your bag in the boot, it's a pain!
 
With the battery right there I might just wire something up.

Bought a few bits and bobs to try things. If I get a good solution I’ll share the list of parts and wiring guide.

Just back to this point i noticed this morning that it does tell you to push the clutch down to start, this is a separate message after the picture of the pedals! The pedant in me finalising the discussion... or not lol

Biggest dissapointment so far - and its my fault - touched an alloy against a curb while on street parking (trying to avoid the offside getting a bash) 1st blemish in 15k+ miles :cry:

Gutted for you. Still anticipate me doing it myself one day. Seven months and 12,000 km so far 😬🤞
 
Effing amateurs. I scratched mine when I flew out of a turn fully sideways, hit a soft ditch, rolled the car twice mid-air and landed the car just besides a huge boulder, scratching the front rim in two places. I was aiming to land it at least an inch away obviously 🙄

Me too ...I had cleaned the wheels wheelhouses and the rest of the car for two days after a ring trip, and just took it on a very short drive on the way to the garage when I approched a bus and came too close to the curbstones and scraped a rear wheel in 3 places. I felt so bad and sick after I did it. It was 40+ years since it happened before
 
All these tales of kerbing! Can the wheels be patched up like normal alloys or is a close encounter with a kerb likely to cost £1600?
 
Scratched my rear right a few weeks ago, at around 30.000km, 100 meters from my home, being too nice, giving way to oncoming traffic (while I had prio)

Yeah you can get them repaired/touched up. I purchased a T/up kit from Ebay. It's not the exact colour match but good enough and came with clear gloss top coat

The wheels are forged so very strong. I clouted a kerb at high speed on the track which put a fair old dent as I smacked the outside edge of the rim square on rejoining the track. i got it repaired and repainted for £50. It's no issue. I've got a few kerb scratches, but I'll wait till I get a few more before I worry about getting them refurbed.

I bought mine used and it didn't come with the original wheels, and I'm fine with that as a) I got a great deal on the car and b) I don't like the look of the stock wheels.

It came with OZ Ultraleggera in standard size (though perhaps not offset) and the PS4s in the specced size. It also came with unmounted winter tires, in the specced size, which I've since mounted on some Enkeis.
Both sets have been curbed a bit. Backing up, part of the problem is that the mirrors are partially inboard of the rear wheels and that the reverse camera's overlay adds so much cushion on the sides to be unhelpful.

But another problem, on my winter wheels especially, is that the metal of the rim sticks out more than any rubber of the tire.

When it's time to replace my tires-- both sets-- I think I'm going to try 235/40s on the 8 in rims.
