GR Yaris šŸ‘ Positives - what do you love about the GR Yaris?

Of course all this is known but another aspect Iā€™d point out is the perfect weight of the controls: clutch is very light for such a car, the brakes have just the right amount of servo and I love the steering weight. Even the steering wheel buttons and column stalk controls feel perfect. Itā€™s my first Toyota and I assume theyā€™re the same on their other cars but very impressive. It just makes it so easy to drive. Canā€™t wait to put some more miles on the clock.

In short, what a car!

Still running in so staying below 5k ish, last week I had a pushy Mondeo up my chuff pootling through a small village at 30mph. The derestricted sign after the 30 zone is on quite a steep uphill with a tight 90 left followed quickly by a wider 90 right, both bends off camber and damp with water run off from ditches. I planted the right foot and the little beauty just took off, no scrabbling, no drama. Mondeo man out of sight in seconds no doubt searching for grip. He turned up again a little later breathless and sweating- Iā€™m not into crazy high speeds on the road but like getting up to the limit quickly.

I just love its mid range urge and traction on tricky surfaces..

Moron down the road from me has an auto Mustang which replaced his much older C63. When I had the M2 he tried to bully me with the C63. M2 had maybe 200km on it. Never got to test it again after I had run the M2 in and edited it a bit. Recently he has a dig at my "POS" Toyota. So I made him an offer, come to the next street sprint. If you are faster than me then I pay for your entry fee and one day licence. If I am faster than you then you pay me entry fee BUT if your fastest time is slower than my slowest you pay for my entries all year... he turned around and walked away.

So cocksure of himself, but he wouldn't even back himself to beat your slowest time with his fastest with a 'non POS'

A few cars arrived at dealers without the audio fuse (mine being one of them) the dealer didnā€™t want to hand over car until theyā€™d found the cause but I convinced them. Did about a week with no noise and when the fuse was put in decided it would stay on.

After 15-16 months of ownership Iā€™m still enjoying most people not knowing what it is, had one lad in a noisy skoda estate this week stop me to say he really liked it, thought Iā€™d repay the compliment so said wish mine sounded like yours people think Iā€™m a hybrid, he then thought it was a hybrid šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

I was asked by a neighbour as I was washing mine the night before japfest if it was a hybrid as his wife had one but mine looked differentā€¦ā€¦

Well Iā€™ve been really enjoying this little car so far but yesterday having past the 620 Mile mark running in I opened it up and was even more amazed by its performance and ability, simply amazing for the little 3 cylinder engine, I love it!!
Got to say the brakes combined with the great tyres make for some seriously good stopping power.

I also went to my first little ā€˜car eventā€™ last Sunday, the classic car southwest car meet near Exeter. A few knew exactly what GRY is but I had so many people asking ā€œwell itā€™s just a Yaris isnā€™t it, whats so special about it?ā€. So it was really nice to chat to people and tell them how special this car is.
 
Agree. The GRY sits between the loutish image of the Ford ST RS crowd and the sometimes snobbish power hungry German performance car crowd. It's a good choice a bit like a Type R or Hyundai N.

Agree I Love it coming from Decatted Impreza, 106 Track Car that all made loads of noise but love the subtlety of it.

Plus (Or probably minus) it does egg me on too much :ROFLMAO:

Thing is though, you don't even have to do homologation specials.

The Clio Williams/V6 is just a Clio.
