GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Or the paint will be all marked from the cover blowing against it🤣

No matey, this isn’t a thirty quid cover from Halfrauds, technology has moved on. I’ve used these outdoor covers from ‘Classic Additions’ over many stormy Scottish Winters (not your slightly breezy southern ones) and they are superb. Also used in the Summer to keep the car clean before car shows. Not cheap by any means but, worth it. 😌

Fair enough Sonic. I am beginning to wonder if your not keeping the whole uk GR86 accessories business going . I thought Scotsmen were supposed to be tight with there money😉

Couldn’t resist some dorky formation parking in the local Sainsbury’s when such a rare opportunity presented itself..!

I use Google Maps, and it gave me a warning, but not until I'd already seen it. Guessing someone tagged it after passing, so Google thought it was further ahead. And the van looked like a normal maintenance van, and was parked on the central reservation rather than the hard shoulder, so I assumed it was just one of the roadworks crew vehicles. Poor observation on my part so I'm lucky to have seemingly got away with it.
It gets its data on things like from Waze so that’s what I use, both own by Alphabet (google). Also follow the police RPU socials, they often post about things like that & you can use it to your advantage by working out & know better where they like to set their vans up.

I second this actually. Mine had the paint badly rubbed at 2 places:
1. Top of Antenna on roof
2. Front sharp edge of bumper (ie that front edge between the front emblem and where the grill/license plate is).
My cover was flapping in the wind for say a month.
So I ended up putting good old painters tape over these areas and continued the storage.

Where did you get it installed? Looks like a nice garage
It is Maidenhead Tyre and Autocare, SL6 2GQ.
It was a very friendly and professional place. I asked if I could take pictures and they were happy for me to do so. They showed great care and interest in my car with several people coming over to look and ask questions.

Thanks, I will make sure to drop by at some point. I haven't found a reputable garage in Reading so far

Day trip to Eastriggs (Nr Annan) to see the Grandson. Beautiful weather apart from a spot of rain in the mountains on the way back. Chose the A702 instead of the motorways, which made for a more interesting drive apart from the bloody 20mph limits now imposed through every town/village enroute!
Also discovered that some people hate being overtaken by a light blue Toyota Sports Coupe and will do their utmost to recover their caveman 'honour', even if it means getting back in front by crossing double white lines before a hairpin bend - Oh look, yeah it's me still right behind you at the next set of lights ... Bawbag!

Fitted the CTEK comfort connector I’d had for a wee while but finally got the time and weather to fit it. Won’t need it for months now but it’s off the to do list. Also applied some gummi pflege to the door, window and boot seals.

Installed the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2. It is indeed pretty small and disappears completely behind the rear-view mirror from the driver's perspective. Under normal conditions, the camera is also barely noticeable from the outside :ninja:
And that damn pollen everywhere... 😐
