GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Quick drive round before the visitors woke up and invaded my town.

Sea side towns suffers from visitor traffic, folk that haven’t a clue, the dumb, the indignant and then the self righteous

Following folk doing 5mph looking for a parking spot, when you know the next 500m is disabled only is frustrating.

So after having a look for the suede trims from the Kungkic Aliexpress store I saw they did some snazzy replacement vertical indicators for the front bumper that's in front of the front wheels shown on a BRZ. "Be nice if the GR86 one's were powered" I thought to myself.

I've had the car for 16 months and I thought they were only reflectors.

My excuse is I'm always in the car when the indicators work and so can't see them lol
 
Because I keep putting the keyfob in a random pocket, forgetting that I have to hold it against the start button to go anywhere and then end up doing the 'where's that bloody key' left-and-right rocking dance in the driver's seat (a-la Stevie Wonder), today I re-enabled the Smart Entry and Start System via the door opening/closing method using my previously recorded youtube instructions. It only bloody worked again innit!? :)
 
Had some great running around North wales at the weekend while down there visiting friends and family.

I also snuck off for some impromptu karting at GYG on Sunday. 40 mins of GR driving each way sandwiching my first dry karting of the year. Bliss!

Traffic was building in the Conwy valley on the return journey. It didn't put a dampener on things though, a sedate drive back from a race track is no bad thing!

Unfortunately, on the journeys bookending the trip to North wales, my Mrs decided she doesn't really like being a passenger in the GR86. Unfortunately for her - I'm not getting rid of it! :ROFLMAO:
 
Going to Hebden Bridge tomorrow to visit the in laws - gonna be the first motorway miles, but some nice backroads too on the way.
 
Cars look great fellas. @Moonballs , I like those LED indicators/side markers where did you get them from? Were they easy to wire into the DRLs?
 
I've had a shocker of a day with my car, comrades.

(Perhaps some of this needs to be in the "confessions" thread...)

I had to pop out to a retail park at lunchtime to run some errands. When I arrived back at my car - which had been meticulously and sympathetically washed in anticipation of Japfest at the weekend - I found it absolutely covered in bird shit. Huge, saucer-sized blobs all over the bonnet, roof and windscreen.

After a suitable period of swearing I got in my car and drove off, wondering why at least three separate parties were gesticulating at me. Having driven for about half a mile/few minutes I then realised - despite having owned the car for almost 16 months and therefore needing to be used to it by now - that I had forgotten to push the button to open up the wing mirrors.

I then proceeded, at a busy roundabout, to do something I have never done before with a GR86, not even on my test drive.

I stalled the f**ker.

Thank you for reading, the cathartic impact of typing this sorry tale for sympathetic (*cough* ) fellow GR enthusiasts should never ever be underestimated.
