GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

In between perpetual rain showers my poor neglected 86 got a much needed wash today in readiness for a trip to the IoW tomorrow.

Cool shot - looks mega in red. The only colour I haven’t seen in person!
Thanks, the red is quite striking, it changes hues in different light. Driveway photos aren't the most arty but this looked good enough to post :D

Went for a day's car shopping in the GR86. That was interesting, amazing how the response was more positive than my drop ins recently when with our 08 XC70. Time for a new company car for SWMBO, and due to the company it has to be an EV. So interesting times ahead with a 402bhp AWD Volvo C40 twin it is then. That 0-60 did feel faster than 4.7 secs. Going to be an experiment... 2% BIK and we have a 3-phase supply in our garage...

Added GR brake pads. Maybe placebo effect but they seem more bitey to me. I like the flash of red too. This is more noticable in the flesh.

These cars are crying out for a big brake kit. But I’m waiting for Brembos to become available as fitted in other markets. No rush. The cars are light enough to stop well on stock setup.

Picked up from Preserve and Protect this morning and given a good exterior wash this afternoon. 🌟
Give it a good check for miniscule flecks of black wax sealant; I found several on my front bumper area that I had to pick off with my finger nail. I guess when the atmosphere is full of the stuff a few spots are going to land somewhere ...

Thanks for the heads up. Never noticed any when washing earlier but will be out tomorrow and give it a good check. 👍🏼

I never noticed during the first wash either. It was when I was up close applying ceramic spray and checking to see if I'd missed buffing any areas. The spots were less than the size of a pinhead but, once I saw one on the blue paintwork I quickly spotted several others, including on the sills. Could be a more difficult spot against the grey paintwork though, so good luck with that! 🔎

Trip around the Fife coastline to Anstruther in the sunshine for coffee on the Quayside…
Update: Also learned how to make the exhaust pop and bang on the downshift; so guess what I was doing at every roundabout and junction?!💥

Been on my hollibobs in South Africa for the last few weeks. Just before I left, I was pretty sure I was pinged by a speed camera van at the A14 roadworks near Newmarket. For the first time I've ever seen, the limit was reduced to 40MPH instead of 50MPH, and I saw the camera while doing 59MPH, which is pushing the upper edge of just the usual 3 points/£100 fine. So I spent most of the holiday worrying about coming home to an NIP. Got home last night and my heart dropped as I saw a load of envelopes sitting on the doormat - but nothing from Suffolk Constabulary, and it's been 3 weeks now. It was early on a Sunday morning, so I guess they didn't have the cameras rolling yet. Score!

Celebrated by going for a little morning drive. Didn't go far as I needed fuel, but I filled up and might pop out again later seeing as everywhere is shut, so roads should be empty. And as the clocks have moved forward, should have a little more light this evening :)
