GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Really hoping it’s not much more than £37-38k. I’ve been priced out of a lot of cars lately and would be a real shame if I couldn’t afford a YARIS. As good a car it is to drive it’s still a Yaris quality interior and exterior at the end of the day.
I think it probably will be. Always good to look what else you can get for £40k, these days not a lot of car for the money.

Just seen that the new Prius is starting at £37k on the Toyota site. Hopefully I'm wrong but I'm struggling to see the base MK2 coming in at sub £40k.

You’re not paying for the Yaris interior or exterior looks, though. There’s a bit more to it than that! If it is that sort of price, which is looking doubtful, you’re going to need some luck to pick one up, because the initial allocation will sell out in minutes.

You can easily afford a mk1 then? Don't think affordability for the masses is a big consideration now for the mk2. And you UK guys got a real deal on the mk1 especially with that initial finance deal and subsequently bought lots of them. Apart from a few early bird Germans that could haggle upwards 20% (late to the party paid up to 20% overs instead), most of us fans paid top dollar, and taxes, and got no finance deals whatsoever for our cars...
Consider yourselves lucky already with a in comparison massive mk1 market. Over here there are 3 for sale now, and I live in a supposedly rally country.

We've got 5 for sale. average price 53k€. Three of them are racing packs, average sales price 59.7k€. Mk2 release info has not indicated any new sales for used cars atm.

Frankly, at 50k€ the GR is 10k€ more expensive than a full specced Yaris GR Sport.
Double the HP, permanent AWD system, upgraded suspension, upgraded chassis stiffness, upgraded brakes, upgraded tires, completely redesigned interior, ... 10k is a pretty cheap deal then.

yes from that point the GR Sport looks like its tad expensive!

I think you might be being a little overwhelmed optimistic as the MK1 was already 36k for those picking up cancelled orders in 2023. The new one was hinted at in the weeks before I collected mine so I did think about cancelling but looking at what prices for new cars have done in the last few years. I realised that it would be a lot more expensive when interest rates were taken into account. The MK1 finance deals in late 2023 were already ~600 so I don't expect these to be below 700ish, roughly double the initial 0%.

I did wonder if I'd made the right decision but then I saw the new interior and was sure 😀

I saw somewhere that despite not being on sale the RRP has just been raised on the mk1 again on the Toyota UK price list.

I don't like the new interior but would love the extra usb c port for the passenger.

I have this in mine:

The Jan 24 list I can find puts a circuit at £35,705 and pearl paint at 920, so £36,625. A couple of hundred more than the 2023.

Edit: The March one has the same price.

Updated price list was from the media page below - price was the same, but the pdf date had been updated.
Most likely due to latest prices for all current models and then merged into one main price list.

I mean, in spite of what I said in my initial post, I could afford the MK2 if I wanted but really don’t want to have to pay the £600-700/month it will inevitably cost. That’s almost as much as my mortgage. I think what I’m really complaining about is that the GR will no longer be the unknown bargain it once was and I’m longing for the precovid days 😅

Can’t see there being a big rush to buy these at £45/48k. Ok if you have spare cash but finance rates will put most buyers off from trading up from mk1. Say £25k trade in on mk1 plus another £20k of cash or finance makes it a challenge. As for speculators who might ask £50k on the first deliveries I see that as a very small market.

damn - was about to post the same! 1min too late. :D
But same prices that posted eariler here

But based on how EU markets have approached the pricing here seems to be different than JPN.

edit.
Lottery prices and schedule introduced in JPN - almost double the price to standard car. that is steep..
Note - Ojie and Robin Perra edition - priceless
😂

The power levels to special editions is listed 304PS (in JPN) so over 30PS bump to standard Mk1. WLTC fuel economy 12.4ltr for manual version.

Just mentioning ISA here (hope not to get banned!) but RC does not have any of those nannies.
