4 weeks away though . . . miracles can happenI shall now not be attending this event. Mrs Sonic decided to do some gardening and dive onto the patio, giving one of our proper big railway sleepers a full weight right forearm smash on the way down. Luckily for her I heard one of the dogs barking and went to investigate, otherwise she'd have been laying there for hours whilst I played Train Sim World on the PC, rather than the 15 minutes or so that she spent laying in a puddle on the slimy slabs. Result is a full break to the right Ulna. So, instead of a hotel stay and a few glasses of red wine, I am now stuck dressing a daft old woman, cooking, cleaning, looking after her horses and our

That is a generic Silverstone forecast and could apply to any day of the year,Weather Watch Update (albeit a good few days out and subject to change):

This is an excellent post with excellent questions and I await the shared wisdom of our previously-attending comrades with interest. Can previous JapFest attendees offer advice around timings and routes?
Current plan: M40, A43 with a 7-7:30am arrival.
So questions:
Route & Arrival Time? Should GRZoo members be aiming for earlier/later…
Stuff to bring? Waterproofs, Camping Chair, Camera…
Food & Drink? Take your own or buy from the on-site concessions…
Clean or dirty 86? Does filthy get you ghosted…
Departure Time? How long does everyone spend at JapFest…
I believe the tradition is to shoplift a variety of items from a local sports direct rather than to visit in the traditional sense. This is an excellent post with excellent questions and I await the shared wisdom of our previously-attending comrades with interest.
As a JF virgin the only one I can really answer relates to car preparation. It's highly likely mine will be dirty, unless the weather realises it's not effing November between now and then.
(Actually I've just thought of another question. Does one need to visit a sports/leisurewear outfitter? I've seen pictures from these sort of events and I don't actually own any hoodies, baseball caps, or (shudder) tracksuit bottoms.)
