GR Yaris 👎 Negatives - what annoys, disappoints, puzzles and generally irks you about the GR Yaris?

I love adaptive cruise!

In my Skoda (auto) it tracks vehicles and maintains speed going down hill. The Yaris does one and not the other.

The BMW (manual) I recently sold disengaged cruise when I used the clutch. The Yaris doesn't.

It would simply be nice if they all worked the same way. Though not the same way as our MX5 as that one's cruise isn't adaptive...

Oh, and I tried the lane centering today. That was horrid.
 
how hard it is to get the wheels off without twatting the callipers or dust shield!

and why couldnt they have put full wheel arch liners in place? i see corrosion issues there

You would not get the same experience with an Aygo, than a Yaris with a speed limiter, at least any I've ever seen. I highly doubt that limiter would be used in a 30 anyway, it's just put up at around 70 odd to stop you license losing if you get a bit too excited when on a blip. Anyone who says they've never looked down at the speedo and gone 'oh, I'm going way too fast' is frankly, a total liar.

You basically shouldn't be giving it the beans in any car a lot of speed limit zones anyway, let alone 30s or 40s, but having a sensible non license losing speed if you're concentrating on the road as a limiter isn't an assault to the principles of fast motoring that it's seemingly being implied here.

Secondarily, is it really worth behaving like this over an opinion ... jeez Robin, maybe he has a convenience pack too

I get choices, I get why people want to PPF, buy a convenience pack car or not drive their car because they prefer cleaning it, but for the OP to say its a negative/annoys/disappoints them that the car is not equipped with a speed limiter when we all have a brain attached to our right foot is just ridiculous. A good example of this is if you drive a car without a rev counter, bet we all still know when to change gear through feeling and its the same with speed.

Aware there’s a bit of jest in your post but I’m obviously not alone in thinking its stupid, anyway I’ll leave it there.

My 2005 Clio Trophy had a speed limiter (owners jokingly referred to it as the pit Lane limiter). I used it a couple of times on average speed check sections of motorway. The Yaris has cruise control so performs the same function.

I’ve got nothing against anyone citing it as a negative, but I agree with Robin that any driver with half a brain can very easily not exceed the limit, using just their eyes and foot pressure.

I also don’t need or want any of the other nannying crap this car comes with. The fact that you can’t completely disable the collision detection system is my only real gripe. All the stuff you can turn off I’m happy to turn off, but that stupid beeping at parked cars pisses me off.

I thought you could, if you hold down the button EXPERT is displayed then keep holding and it disappears, i thought that meant everything is now off??
 
Only the drivers side rear window has what looks to be a heating element in it ???

I hate the amount of short-comings the car has. Every day I see another reason why someone is selling - nothing to do with owners having the attention span of a goldfish.

If these people would have thought long and hard before ordering, maybe I would have been in mine a year earlier. :)
 
the fact that there are two wee holes behind the Yaris badge on the bootlid.........if only i had done my research before trying to debadge!

It was either the GR or the Civic R for me. Nothing else.

If either of these two don't hit the spot then nothing will.

The Civic would address a lot of the complaints above.
