GR Yaris ðŸ‘Ž Negatives - what annoys, disappoints, puzzles and generally irks you about the GR Yaris?

No boot light
Phone gets disconnected when you turn the engine off.
Can’t work out if or how I can adjust the distance on adaptive cruise control
TPMS gives false warnings in the cold.
Lane departure (blind spot would be more useful)
No rear park sensors on CP
Horn
Hill hold doesn’t. (As wife attempted to burn my clutch out... she drives an auto)
The top right button on the steering wheel varies the distance for the active cruise. I turn it down to 1. RTFM.

The hill hold works very well, for three seconds when you come off the brake.

I'm not sure the TPMS gives false warnings when it's cold. The lower the temperature the denser the air, so this is why tyre pressure drops.

Cheers i’ll try the cruise again....
Mine doesn’t it’s crap compared to other cars, so I don’t rely on it, use old school handbrake method.
Our other cars are not affected by the temp variation, the calibration should take into account the change in temp, so it’s not very good, I then go into menu to read the actual pressures, which are okay.

No sear fold memory on drivers seat, and lack of a boot light, which I remedied with a led strip from Amazon.

The jacking point at the front is a bit of a struggle to get to even with my low height Jack, but a couple of blocks of wood under front tyres fixed that.

Regarding the TPMS. I had an issue with the warning coming on when the pressure had only dropped a very small/negligible amount. It was caused by the tyres being massively over inflated when I collected the car and I presume the calibration being against this number rather than the recommended pressure that I reduced the tyres to. The issue was solved by recalibration of the TPMS, which is a simple process detailed in the handbook. This could be your issue rather than temperature.

Only 1 complaint: The wheels - expense and inability to repair chips. And no-one has been able to give a suggestion on how to remedy

Wondering if the safety nannies are truly off after holding the TC button as every now and then radar collision warning will pop up.

Honestly, the whole "EXPERT"/long hold no "EXPERT" thing reminds me of French design logic...

Not much to be honest.
Probably the biggest one for me is rear visibility, particularly the rear corners.
There have been a few instances where i actually couldn't see pulling out of angled intersections.

Also the rear view mirror is an issue.

It reminds me of older BMW logic, of old many confused owners there too that were naturally inclined to not RTFM...

The sensors measure to 2 decimal places but on screen you only see round numbers. So although the number may look correct on the dash the light comes on if the true number is below the correct pressure.

An example below of the 2 decimal places that can be seen on an OBD reader:

I can understand why some people like them, personally, I dislike the way they tend to retard the power... but it is easy to sneak to extra legal speeds in some cars without kinda realising you're doing so.

Not something for me, in all honesty, but as I say, I get why some people like them.

The need for a 6 month Safety Check - to check a few basic items that I could do myself in less than the time it takes me to drive to the Dealer

I thought that at first but then I didn't mind as it's such a bespoke car that I guess they want to check the niggles so they don't need a 2nd recall! 😅
Saying that I conveniently had the recall done at the same time as the 6 month check! 😅👌

One thing that annoys me is that I wish you could set the heating/blowers to be both hands/head level AND windscreen at the same time! As it is you can only have feet and windscreen at the same time :(

I must admit, I feel like nearly every car I've ever owned has not allowed that as an option. I figured there is some kind of reason to do with how the ducting works?
