I imagine you locked in a price a lot lower than the current retail price, so it may end being another 4 to 5k to get the MK2 should you decide to cancel, I suppose it is down to how much you want to own the latest spec, if you want the MK2 I would certainly cancel the order, if you are happy with the MK1 then you’ve got a cheap GRY.
 
As an owner of a Red GR Yaris, I was trying to find some pics of what a Red Mark 2 would look like. I managed to find a teaser image and have compared it to the current car. I think the new version probably looks better in dark colours to hide the front bumper better - the older car looks better in Red imo. Woud like to see more real world pics to get a better idea though.

It might be an optical illusion, but the red and grey cars looks different to me - if you look at the area around the Toyota badge, gap between top of the bumper and the bonnet. Also that bumper design looks different to me. 🤷‍♂️

Looks like an early design, or different body kit.

Yep, it's probably not the final design captured in that teaser.

The front end looks great against the Red, I think it’s growing on me, I too thought the colour should cross the gap, but it looks mean as hell on the that image.
 
Thinking about ordering an auto as that is all my good lady will drive now, she likes my car but won't drive a manual. Not planning on selling my GRY any time soon. My MK1 XR2 can go but not my little beast.
 
Because I'm a bit of a loser/design nerd – I roughly retouched the press shots to see how all of colours look. Maybe this is interesting to some of you.

From this particular 3/4 angle, it doesn't look too bad. But I stand by my initial reaction that they've slightly messed it up.

The black and grey are obviously forgiving. The red maybe looks quite decent. I personally don't love the white. The lower body-coloured bit (splitters?) look detached and flimsy. A bit like the MK8 Gti Clubsport.

I think the white looks the worst in the Mk2, but imo it was the best in MK1

I'll be aiming for a Grey Auto when the time comes for the chaos of ordering

Then with the 99.9% chance of me not getting one, I've started a list of mods for my MK1 so I'll just crack on with those as soon as I see the 'Sold Out' signs ha

Agreed! I don’t think the white works very well at all on the front of the new car. Almost certainly will not change mine for the new one, but if I did, grey would be the colour for the novelty of a new available colour!

Yep, definitely the worst colour out of the lot. Just looks nowhere near as good as the white Mark I.

Off topic alert! I would love an XR2. It was the car I wanted when I passed my test in the 90’s but could never afford the insurance. Mint ones are so expensive now. I don’t think I would let one of those go.
