GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Jesus. That's horrid, shows money can't buy taste.

Today I leaned out of my bedroom window and wished my car a Happy First Birthday.

(Which of course means it's my birthday too. )

Perhaps a little bling for me, I would probably go for a darker shadow chrome myself. But certainly better than stock.

I washed my car today and was reminded of one of the reasons why I don't really like black wheels...they make the tyres look brown in comparison once they've been cleaned. Which means that I now have to go round applying tyre gel if I don't want the look ruined by manky looking tyres. A messy and tedious job which I found was never really necessary with lighter coloured wheels.

After washing I also jacked up the car to apply some ACF50 to try and protect the car from corrosion. There's a lot of surface area to cover while lying on your back with just a spray bottle and a cloth, not really feasible to cover every square inch of the underside. So I just tried to hit the areas I reckon will be most at risk...ARB and drop links, under tray bolts, tie rods, differential casing, lower control arms....basically any bolt which looks like it might dissolve into rust got a quick squirt of ACF50. The car has been driven for a year in all weathers including last winter and it didn't look too bad underneath , so I'm hoping that's enough to keep the worst at bay.

Considered that but, as it's been done here on a few cars I thought I'd be a little different and go full 'bling'. Works out cheaper than a new set of chromies, so it'll do until I get bored and revert to a Hyper Gloss Black. Besides, the wheels almost match my blingy watch ...:giggle:

Finally found another use for the 9.99m of CF effect tape that has been on my shelf for over a year! Last year I used 1cm to embellish the N logo on my KonaN sun strip, today I whipped off the door sills of the GR86 and gave them a little CF effect scuff protection … only around 8m left to use 😁

Happy to take a couple of lengths off you for my sills … I kick them regularly on the way into the car

It's about 90p from AliExpress in China for 2m with 'Free Shipping'. That's less than the £1.24 it would cost me to send you two strips from Scotland! I mean wtf eh?! Anyway, Merry Christmas ya chancer!

I’ll order some … Merry Xmas

Not exactly what *I* did with my GR86 today, but yesterday I lent to my nephew to review for his You Tube channel (like & subscribe ;))

Nice report. Would not describe the car different from that. Right on the point.
And I am a bit jealous because of the exhaust. Soon switching to Milltek, because hardly anything available here with EU certificate. But this will for sure not be close to that sound.
