For anyone considering the £36/m deal, see if your dealer still has access to the 10 year Toyota service plans. They were the same monthly cost and included MOTs when I was looking into it, and the cost worked out to almost exactly the same as getting 5 intermediate, 5 full services and 7 MOTs with Toyota separately, not taking into account any price hikes over the next 10 years. The plan was also cancellable for any unused services with a fixed admin fee of around £35.

I opted in for a dealer network service plan provided by the same company (EMaC) as they managed to set me up on a legacy service plan that was the same cost as the GT86 one, working out at around £27.50/m (with no MOTs included).

I was told by my local dealer that the 10 year plan wasn't actually fixed price after the first 5 years...?

The service plan document explicitly states the below:

"

It also provides me with the details of the included 10 services, payments schedule and the total cost of the plan.
 
So I’ve just received an email saying that my service is £27pm for 3 years but I was pretty sure it was £36. So I checked the Toyota website and it appears its £27 for non GR and £36 for GR. my plan is to go ahead and sign everything and then if I get to the stage I feel confident that I can win , when they eventually says oh it’s actually £36 show them the email and say sorry you emailed showing £27 and I signed at £27pm. Now it might be when I call that they realise..

I took up the offer for £36 / month. Protects against inflation and was promised courtesy car when work is being completed.
 
Picked my car up last week and very reluctantly signed up for a GR service package that apparently means the 86 at £36 p/m is now as expensive to service as a 3.0 Supra? That is a tough one to get your head round.

This so called ‘package’ has seen me seriously consider having the car serviced from the start with a local trusted Japanese Performance Specialist. Especially when the Toyota service department advised on the day of collection that modern cars don’t really need run in and just don’t over rev the engine. Oh really?

So just need to suck it up for the next three years for the sake of the warranty and resale value. But after the three years are up and if the 86 is a keeper, I think I’ll be ditching any thought of a 10 year warranty.

Pisstake, innit? Although you don't have to take it to Toyota to maintain the main 3 year portion of the warranty. As long as you get it serviced by a VAT registered garage, and as long as they use OEM parts, then Toyota still have to honour their manufacture warranty.

It's only actually the extended 10 year warranty which is contingent on the car being serviced at a Toyota dealer - so I guess the optimal thing to do would be to have the car serviced by a reputable independent for the first 3 years, then switch to servicing at a dealer from then on to maintain the warranty out to 10 years - as far as I know, all you need to do to be eligible for it is to turn up and have the car serviced, and as long as it's less than 10 years old/100K miles, you will get another 1 year/10K miles cover from the date of that service. Might be worth picking through the T&Cs to be sure though.

Service costs are more than you’d imagine with it ‘only being a Toyota’ rather than a performance brand, but, they’re basically including the warranty as part of the cost. Obviously it’s annoying to be paying this extra within the first 3 years, but, after that it’s better value. I’ve just extended the warranty by 12 months on my wife’s 3 year old Mini Cooper, and that was £350 just for the warranty. I’ll still have to pay for servicing on top of that. Unfortunately everything seems to be more expensive now than you’d expect it to be.
 
Service costs are uncompetitive that's for sure

The Supra is a BMW engine so it's on their variable servicing I expect, approx every 19k miles?
I know it seems expensive, but if inflation carries on at 10% a year, then £36 pcm will look cheap.
 
TOL quoted me £36 a month for a 3 year plan that includes 1 MOT.

Do we know if the 10 year plans still exist?
 
The 10 year plan exists. I rang today (0344 248 0189. ). They offer to spread the cost monthly over 10 years for the eqv of 5 int and 5 full services at the fixed cost as posted earlier in this thread of 315 and 470. So it adds up to 3925. They offer a few variants but they all add up to 3925.
You can transfer it to a new owner.
The dealer you use must have be on the EMaC system
It includes parts and labour the only variable is if VAT changes they will add (or subtract!!!!) the new vat rate.
If you plan on keeping the car it will be worth it as a hedge against inflation and a good selling point if you don't.

Worth pointing out that the plan can be cancelled at any point, with a small admin fee. I believe you would then be refunded the paid but unused portion of the plan (but would need to confirm the wording of the policy).
 
I wonder has something changed on this. When I asked a few months ago I was told 10year plan didn't exist, but that was from the dealer. Good to know it does.

My dealer insisted this 10 year fixed price plan doesn't exist. I signed up to a 3 year plan as a result. :(
