GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Naughty!
That'll only be a speed awareness course as long as you don't have any current points, though. I assume a gentleman so refined that he needs a coat hook in his sports car wouldn't have anything but a clean licence.....

..would he?

My licence is currently clean,

It hasn't always been thus.

I can also divulge that I did encounter shall we say a six month break from driving well over a decade ago...

Tested the theory of fitting four wheels and tyres in a GR86...

Couldn’t get the back seat drop button to reset, eventually found the boot pull cord had gone inside the seat latch, was tricky to reset with the dog asleep on the back seat

Had a look at fitting the K&N air filter this afternoon, looked and gave up. Just could not be bothered trying to break or loose something in the engine bay as I did not wish to rush it in the dimming light of the day. Another time 😁👍

Today I set up the GR86’s ownership birthday 😄

Like it.

(If any pedants are tempted to come along and drone on about how the date the car was built is technically the birth date- don't!)

As an aside, my car was - by happy coincidence - registered and handed over to me on my own birthday, so I'll never forget it!

Nice! I almost arranged that, but I was on holiday for my birthday, so had to wait five extra days.

Did a tip run. Have been using it daily now as I go home to see Mika for lunch. It was wet, 40mph winds yet empty roads so went the long way. It's staggering how good it is in track mode, even in bad conditions. At times I often think I'd be no quicker in the vRS and because it's lighter, tyres and brakes last far longer too.

Picked the car up from having some Lanoguard applied, just trying to give it the best start to its life. Also attempted to fit the Cusco pedal and gave up pretty quickly! Blamed the rain, but I'd be lying it was just a bit fiddly to do it with the pedal in place.

I did similar with the clutch spring yesterday, had a quick look upside down in the driver's footwell and decided that it needs a lot more thought, or possibly someone else to do it!

Much easier to do both by taking the pedals out.
This. Clutch pedal spring is impossible to change without removing it from the car, which is a little fiddly but not too bad.

The Cusco extender can be fitted while the pedal is in situ, but God knows how, as I found it fiddly even after removing pedal from the car. But doing so with the accelerator is easy...two bolts and an electrical connector and it comes out.

Cleaned the car this morning, and noticed I must have "kissed" a curb 🤬😡

Has anyone used one of those touch up paints from Halfords etc ?

Have the same with mine. Agonised over it for a bit, but a black Sharpie made it all but invisible from more than a few feet away. Enough that I don't notice it so I can stop worrying about it until I decide to get a full refurb.

I've dabbed it with a Sharpie, but I know it's there.

I might have to suck it up and get it repaired

Did something a bit cheesy and fitted logo projecting puddle lights.

They are now actually less effective as puddle lights, but do they look pretty smart :D

Edit: added a better picture.
