GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

I agree with you guys above, pleeeenty of power. It's a rocket once it's warmed up and you have access to the full boost!
I'd just improve on other things if I were to mod it... like spacers, springs, torque mount, exhaust & eventuri etc...
GR Yaris is one way funny personality, that it can be fast when it decides to. and some moments it is a slouch.

That would be a second hand car at that time so that solves that. However dear Michael, from good information source I have special information for you my friend, and that is that you should be careful with Kenyans selling cars, Nigerians are much more trustworthy, especially if they know what car you want beforehand. However, the same source tells me now that Michael might not be your real name, so now I don't know who to trust anymore
That's true but I wouldn't be selling RS or S/T's, so if you see some listings where Michael is selling, not likely same person. Could still be a bargain!

I thought in Kenia and Nigeria they are only selling the Safari from the 911 range?

The dealers know even less than we do, and they are Toyota franchises.
I would be interested, same goes for the GT Corolla.

Not here in Japan. They're notified way in advance before new models drop, even minor changes to current models, as they have to prep sales and maintenance staff. My oldest son is a lead tech/inspector for the very large dealer network here, like I got a ¥700,000 discount on my 2023 RZHP (US$6,200 at the time of order) kind of connection, and saw the sales brochures with pricing for the 60 Prius before the media/car mags even knew what they were going to cost.

I ask and they ask. Never say never, but word so far is this is it. The car is not a big seller, comparatively. When the new Velfire dropped, a van that starts at ¥6.5M, one dealer store here, in one day, sold more Velfires than all the GRY that were sold in our prefecture.

Also, "Best Car" magazine in Japan is a trash magazine and nothing they say should be believed. Like I said, never say never, but this is most likely just western media looking for anything they can click-bait people with.

Did someone mention Best Car? Now they're scooping the return of MR2.

What's the MR2 buzz these days?

Over the past few years it was allegedly a Porsche/Toyota collab to use the Boxster chassis, then a pure Toyota project with a hybrid drive train, and most recently a Toyota chassis with a Suzuki drivetrain, possibly hybrid.

Imagine that, a GR86 sized sports car, but mid-engined, targa top and with the G16E-GTS putting out 320 bhp. With Toyota pricing.
That would be something...
But I would gladly trade the targa-top for a non-hybrid drivetrain and a (good!) manual gearbox!

A combination of a GR Yaris and an RWD MR2 would create the perfect duo, offering the best of both worlds. With these two cars in my garage, it would feel complete, and I'd be content to own just these for a lifetime.

I believe the return of the MR2 is quite plausible, especially considering the recent comments made by Toyota's chairman. It makes sense as a grand finale, a final hurrah for the model. With ample time remaining until 2030, there's potential for exciting developments.

I doubt we'd see either in Europe though, isn't the reason the 86 is got such a limited run is because how low the bonnet is?

Well, yes, but only because it was effectively designed in about 2009/10, about 15 years before the start of the regulations it cannot meet to allow continued sale here.

A car designed today will be compliant with all current and planned future legislation.

I find it always "funny" that these safety regulations prevent sports cars to be continued or lead to unnecessarily expensive solutions like the explosives in an MX-5 ND's bonnet to meet these regulations while at the same time it is all fine and dandy under the same safety regulations to have bonnet heights in SUVs somewhere at 1,50 metres.

(Sorry for OT)

They decided against selling the new Z in Europe for that reason though too right? I got the impression it's really hard to do right now
