Excuse me what? I've had my current Toy for 16 years and had several slow punctures. Really could have done with knowing that.

Mazda MX5 is all I can think of. But that comes with obvious comprimises.
I was thinking about this the other day after reading the Pistonheads manual gearbox piece on the GR86, type r and M2 and started looking at new / 2023 petrol cars on Autotrader that you could by with a manual gearbox. There was around 8500 and most were the lower powered engines from certain ranges of small / medium sized hatches like Polo's. And when you look at £35k'ish and below performance / drivers cars to compare with the GR86, there are just a handful of that amount; GR Yaris, MX5, i20n, i30n, Swift Sport, Puma, Fiesta and Focus ST, Abarth 500/600, Mini Cooper S/JCW and 1 Golf GTI 🀣. And most of these, you can't actually buy new now, or you won't be able to for much longer. And only the MX5 is RWD. The days of manual gearbox fun is nearly over.

Still, I can console myself in the fact that if I have maybe 30 years left of driving and don't want to go over to auto, electric, etc. I should still be able to search out a car that will still give me the connected joy of driving that I feel you can only get from these more basic / old school types of cars. πŸ™‚

I wouldn't be too concerned - I saw an article online from two years ago where Volvo introduced free puncture repairs, which was described as an "industry first". So Toyota can't have been doing it long.

I had a great drive back after a meal out with a mate last night. c.11pm, very quiet rural B/minor roads, light scattering of drizzle.

It was one of those drives where everything came together and I was totally focussed on the experience. No music/radio, no passengers, and no distractions. Not going massively fast but the car felt so 'alive'. Steering, throttle, gearchanges, braking all fantastic.

I love this car very much indeed. There is no other new car available for anything like Β£30k (Β£32.5k now?) that would touch it for driving pleasure. Tell me I'm wrong.
Could not agree more. Our B and C roads are well surfaced due to logging and wind farms. However, very rural in Scotland. Oh, such fun πŸ˜πŸ‘

Installed some sound deadening in the doors.
First one took a while. Second was much easier.
Broke one of the white clips which was annoying.
I managed to do it without removing the vapour barrier.

If you don't mid me asking, what finish are your stripes? Gloss or satin? I'm planning some decals (different to yours) and was planning on matte or satin.

Car looks fab BTW and the black spoiler sets it off nicely.
Thanks Vistalite!! Much appreciated. Decided to go with gloss, to match the spoiler and mirror covers.

Both are good choices as the Matt would go with the standards alloys which are a matt-ish colour. What design are you going with?

Fitted a Remark axle back. 500 miles into the run-in and I just couldn't wait any longer. I need my cars noisy.

What an improvement! Even at my 4k rev limit it just brings the car to life.

Also replaced interior, door and reverse lights with LEDs. Again, massive improvement.

Thanks again to @Gari for the kick in the right direction.
