GR86 "That's a fresh whip bruv"; or the Toyota GR86 collated feedback thread

Nod of appreciation and thumbs up from an East Asian lad in a Type R as his mate slowed then sped past on the M180 eastbound near the highly lucrative speed trap just before the River Trent.

Thankfully for them no police van there today.. (beware though if a matchday at Grimsby or Scunthorpe - even for National League North (FFS!) they’ll catch a few…)
 
First ‘fresh whip’ comment today
Guy in a serious looking Vauxhall VX220 pulled up beside me at the lights gave me the thumbs-up and asked ‘ ‘how you finding it?’
Thought that was pretty cool question from what must’ve been a proper car guy
 
Had to go home yesterday on lunch break to let gas board in to test gas was OK as they're fitting new pipes in the estate. Had to park opposite so drove to the bottom of the road, spun the car at the junction and came back up. Got to my house and the tester said "That's a GR!" and I spent the next 10 mins talking about it. The other workmen were complimentary about it too
 
What colour car do you all have, I've not had one single comment good or bad on my 86 :LOL: maybe it's the boring pearl white paintwork on mine.......
 
I have pearl white and get compliments on how it looks quite often. Other day at petrol station girl with Focus RS kept checking it out. Then, as she was walking towards, was like “dude I like your car”. I was like thanks, your RS is cool. 😎
 
A great looking red GT86 was driving towards me yesterday morning so I thought I'd flash and give them a quick wave. I was a bit disappointed when they just stared at me and didn't do anything in return.

On reflection, I would probably have got a better reaction if I hadn't been driving my wife's A3.

Probably didn't get an order in, and is now sulking and taking it out on all of us.

Sometimes it takes me a second or two to decide whether to thumbs up, nod or flash back in which time they’ve gone. Followed by ‘f**k, now I look like a prick’ 😂😂😂

As I was out and about earlier I seemed to notice quite a few people checking the car out and doing double takes, I think the EB colour also has something to do with it.

Haven’t seen an EB yet (not even sure if there are any over here in N Ireland!) but I bet they stand out pretty nicely from the everyday traffic🤘

Drove through a village while out for a blast earlier, broke the neck of a couple of local kids walking past.

I had my first random complement today. Was in the middle of washing it and a chap walking past said "I like your car". Brought a smile to my face.
I've also given up on letting on to other gt/gr owners. Never been reciprocated.
