GR86 GR86 - The “I’m thinking of cancelling / did cancel my order” thread

Lots would probably never have ordered in the first place if they were allowed to test drive beforehand.

Lots seem to cancel after test driving - why?
I don't think it's the sort of car that will wow you on a test drive. The cold throttle issue and the clutch weight are going to be big issues for many. Also the cabin isn't the best quality, so it might not feel as 'special' as a BMW or something similar.

No suit hooks, obvs.

Insufficient head/hair room for the luxuriously coiffured among us.

I was left severely underwhelmed in my test drive, albeit I was only allowed a few mins and car was cold so didn’t like second gear.

But I am so glad I stuck with it and ignored the niggling thoughts. Absolutely love the way it drives and it always bring a smile to my face when I see it in the car park.

Does anyone know how late an order can be cancelled? I have a black manual ordered which apparently is in Portbury but I'm having second thoughts now.

Distance selling rules state you can take delivery and still cancel, within certain rules. So certainly now. What is putting you off?

You’d surely sell it for what you paid.. Where in the country is it getting delivered?

It's coming to London. If you were a redmanc i'd wager you don't live far away but as a bluemanc I'm guessing you're Manchester :-D

Bit of an impulse purchase and now would rather have the funds to put towards a house purchase

I wouldn’t hold high hopes of any sort of profit right now, so if you don’t want it or it’s a bad time, probably best to let it go.

Cancelling it would also do someone a favour, as someone else on the list would get the option.
Agreed, cancelling the order means that the next person on Toyota's waiting list will get bumped forward and be a happy bunny! Buying to sell also has its inherant risks, not to mention that the car would be +1 on its previous owners.

Quite a few GR on autotrader at the moment so may take a little while to sell and tie your capital in, but okay if no rush to sell.

Yeah. Interesting to see how many are on there in 1 year’s time.
