GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Its new stablemate!

Whilst out driving sedately, in the countryside, with the GRY guys today, I caught a glancing blow to a bird (slid off the bonnet and flew off) and then properly hit a pheasant. Any idea if these come pre-painted from Toyota ?View attachment 14306

Damn bird !

Headlight washer 'cover' ordered (has to go to bodyshop for painting when it arrives) and it's getting replaced under warranty. Reversing sensors fitted today and I've just fitted the cargo net, which they had some problems ordering as it's a USA parts number. It arrived anyway - £42 . . .

I wasn't looking forward to today, knowing what I had to do and looking at the weather forecast. 😩

So, after 310 miles of driving in snow, rain and some flooded roads, 1 1/2 hours on Teams meetings sat in the passenger seat, 1 office visit, 1 site visit and a KFC dinner, again sat in the passenger seat....

I'm a happy guy. A good productive day getting sh*t done. 😁

It's no Landcruiser, but the GR86 took it all in its' stride. I can work, eat and sleep in it and best of all, we are at one with each other working in perfect harmony. No sketchy moments, just a lovely day of handling the bad conditions that mother nature threw at us. 🥰

Mine lost the new car smell, replaced with stale beer. Also got an AAWireless dongle from amazon and it seems to work well (no more plugging the phone every trip)

Is there an 'unusual things you've transported in your GR' thread?

This would be a fine entry!

I hit the magic 1000 miles this morning driving along the M11. Unfortunately it was snowing and very wet so there wasn't an opportunity to use all 7500rpm let alone drive above 60mph.

However this afternoon the skies cleared, the roads started to dry and, whilst exiting a roundabout on the A10, an open road beckoned and the chance to use all those revs was too good to pass up. When the engine is extended the car is nicely fast, the noise through the speakers and from the beeper was pretty loud and all the low speed annoyances from the transmission just disappeared as I was finally able to use the car as intended.

If I needed any reassurance that I had bought the right car then this was it. No buyer's remorse for me.

Another roundabout and I did the same again and just at that moment I saw another GR86 for the first time. A white one heading north on the A10 whilst I was heading south. It felt like hitting the rev limit had summoned it into existence.

A good day.
