Awesome, that’s exactly what I’m after too, but I will get a ceramic coating on the rest and PPF roof too. How long does it take?

If you’re happy to share your quote that would be much appreciated. If not, no worries. Looking forward to hearing your reviews the car looks awesome.
Hi Rage, I collected my car yesterday from VinylOne. I had the front bumper, bonnet, head lights. wing mirrors, A pillars and side skirts done in Xpel PPF. The service was great and all completed in a few days. I'm really pleased with the results, the seams are clean and barely visible with the naked eye, there are no wrinkles or bubbles that i can see, he is a real perfectionists and it shows. My only regret was driving he car before getting the PPF done.

I am wondering if anybody got pre-cut STEK PPF? I am getting quotes from various detailers in my area and nobody yet offered STEK pre-cut PPF. The Xpel pricing seems rather high for me in my area at least...

Interesting video here of a GR86 being PPF and ceramic coated. Lot of work there and sharp edges / knifes near the paint work - plenty of opportunity for things to go wrong ! Still can't make-up my mind !
Taggy

Odd that the paint work under PPF was not also polished as in future one would not know which areas had been done or not. Just an observation.

I sent two message inquiries in to 2 installers one got back to me asking for further information about what I wanted quotes on, the other hasn't responded at all from over a week ago, are these people really that busy?

Just sent to Cameron at this address, is Xpel fitter at 1 Battle Rd, Heathfield TQ12 6RY and came back really quick. Have no affliation and still undecided.

Bit far for me, looking for someone local (Worcs/Warks/MIdlands) I have 2 equidistant Xpel fitters but only one replied and they weren't that quick either.

you should have plenty to choose from, I'm in Northamptonshire and I've sent out enquires to 5-10 installers, most of them responded within 2 days, but some just don't check their emails. all of them were within about an hour drive from me, but I went with the closest one, as he was by far cheapest and had all 5 star reviews on google.

find out who's near by searching on Xpel's own website https://xpel.co.uk/
then maybe filter out for only ones with stellar reviews on google.
you could also just write one email and copy paste it to all of them - they will usually call their packages differently and can be found on their website, but just state what you need. mine was quite custom - I asked for full front with the side skirts and then I fancied PPF on door sills, as I have a tiny garage and I would scratch them getting in/out. I also asked for a tiny strip on the door - just in case I hit the garage wall.
I wanted to do door handles and boot entrance, but in the end I kept the ugly Toyota ones... which I regret a little. These were actually pretty cheap.
And ceramic on the rest of the car.

In the end it was 1300 for full front, as a package, 430 for PPF on every other bit, and 600 for paint decontamination, single stage machine polish and ceramic on the rest of the car.

Dropped my car in today for ppf.

Having full front, sills and some on the front of the rear arches.

Decontamination and clean done today. PPF is cut and ready for application tomorrow after some more prep. The car already looks amazing after a clean, it was so dirty after instructing the deal not to touch it.

Here is the company I am using https://instagram.com/awccardetailing?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

He shared some updates in their insta story if anyone wants to take a look.

Sorry, looks like I missed this. Looks great!!

Thanks for the info, think that settles it! I’ll book with them once I get a confirmed handover date.

Decided on ceramic only. PPF just not justified. Will take Toyota SMART repair.
Thanks for sharing the "Toyota SMART Repair" option. I was not aware of it. Called the dealer today asking to opt for it.. thought would be worth the peace of mind when it comes to door dings in car parks, stone chips, or general scuffs from high-ish curbs / concrete/ stones, etc, while parking or opening doors.
As you alluded to - largely eliminates the need for PPF.

Turns out I can't get it now as it is only offered for first 30 days of car purchase, which expired literally 2 day ago for me. I am very crossed with the dealer yet again - literally no info about this or service plans or anything for that matter - Tempted to share my one after the other bad experiences on Toyota Twitter handle now.

That sucks, even with a damage assessment to confirm there are no chips etc? Might be worth dropping Toyota online an email or trying another dealership.

That is annoying. Try ALA Insurance for SMART repairs.

Nope - I spoke to Toyota Online as well today.. they said they cannot help with it - dealer should have informed me and sorted it out. While Dealer says Toyota Online should have informed me as its an online sale. I have had enough of this ping pong now. Not the first time really they both are doing it - the whole purchase process has been like that.

Will be taking it to social media now. Name and shame will only work with these blood sucking corporates.
