GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Picked up few more parts:

Ordered skid plate and adjustable top mounts.
Got Tom's rear wing written in car's papers and scheduled service on 14th Dec to put all the upgrades:
- final wiring for intercooler water spray retrofit
- Powerflex mount inserts
- Hel's scoop
- Forge inlet
and maybe Airtec catch can and Mocal oil cooler (Tegiwa kit, but maybe make my own instead).
 
Drove it on some fantastic B roads, and the A68. It’s been 7 months and 6.5k miles and it still makes me smile every single time I drive it. It’s not been off road at all but the weather has left it looking like this since yesterday:

A car stopped at my street parked car while I was on the porch, driver opened window and said "this car...."
And I'm like thinking, ok what have I done now??

He continues, "this car, I LOVE this car, it is amazing" and a big smile and drives off.

First time that happened, made my day, 99% of the people don't give a second look (black, dirty, small wheels)

Reverse psychology, I try to keep my cars discrete nowadays so most the time I'm happy to go under the radar, however still like a compliment every now and then of those that are in the know :)
 
One thing I love about the GR is that it is a little understated, unless you know what it is... then it's super obvious. My previous three cars have been interesting variants of relatively normal models. I mean probably 90%+ of people have no idea what a GR Yaris is, what a RS Megane is, or what a Corolla T-Sport is either.

Most people just hear Corolla, Megane, Yaris... people who know, know.

Bought some spacers, String Theory ones. Beeped at someone stuck on their phone for 20 seconds with the light green, and nearly died of embarrassment. Need to fit the PIAA horns

Same here. Have had maybe 5-6 people coming over/giving thumbs up on only 3,5k km. More than any other car I've owned.
 
30tkm service (engine + driveline oils) + new windscreen wipers + new headlights as warranty item.
Gear change feels brisk always with new oils.
edit. also washed it. try to wash her on weekly basis just to avoid any excess dirt built in wheels etc that is more difficult to clean. easier to do more often..

the upper mounting clips had broken - there has been few in Finland batch at least with same issue. no biggie but got it under warranty item so they swapped them.
Noted them actually 1 year ago already.

Mech who changed them said the clips were really brittle so not sure if that has been a material issue or smth else.

Is it less than great even with the car stationary?

Other than Toyota improving it a bit for you, which I think you posted about some time ago, have you tried the torque mount replacement route or anything similar?

Toyota adjusted it, made it better not perfect, some others who have had the same issue have gone the torque mount replacement route but I want to keep it standard to avoid rocking the boat if it fails completely (have had it not go into gear completely on an occasion) i see it as that’s what the warranty is for but at the same time if they’ve adjusted it the next step is the oil.
