The same was true in the previous gen. Quite a high bite point, but also, there's a helper spring on the clutch pedal which it designed to lessen the clutch effort. Which it did, but as the pedal came up, it's pivot would switch and it would push the pedal back into your foot. The result was quite a non-linear feeling clutch pedal which could cause you to lurch gear changes.If offered I’ll have a test drive, so I can rag the merry hell out of a TUK car.
It would be nice to see what Top Gear were on about with the learning of the clutch and 1st couple of gears. They suggested there is a bit of a knack, likely something simple like a high bite point
The solution was simple....replace the spring with a less powerful one. Makes the clutch pedal feel a bit heavier, but it makes it much easier to judge the bite point. Very common mod for the previous gen, I did it myself and I think I'll end up doing it for the new one too. Have a search for "GT86 MTEC clutch spring", you'll probably find loads of info on it.
