I've waited so long that I'm thinking it will be sweeter for my first ever drive of a GR86 to be my own.

The reviews are great and likelihood of disappointment is minimal.

What're you all thinking?

If I'm offered one then yeah, I'll probably go for it but I wouldn't wait to drive one before finalising the purchase and taking delivery of my own. I made the decision that I was buying one and the reviews have all been positive so I can't see why I wouldn't like it.

Not bothered. A big part of me wants to drive mine for the first time and get acquainted from there. I'm hoping in this case the chase isn't better than the catch but almost all the reviews are great, with the only moaning coming from those who need power to make up for their lack of ability. It should be great.

If a demo car comes available before mine arrives, then I can't see why I wouldn't test drive it. I'll be shocked if I hate it, as everything I've read and every YouTube video I've watched make me think I'll love it. At least with a demo car I can 'give it some beans' to see what it's capable of, where I'll be running mine in for the first thousand miles or so.

I'd like a test drive. On the basis I want to be able to use the full rev range on the test drive and after testing the GRY (after placing deposit) I realised it wasnt for me. We live in hope its what we have been waiting for, but also has to fit the role it will be used for, mine is a daily driver so cant be a nightmare on UK roads. Luckily top gear suggests its firm but 9/10 in the UK is promising.

If I'm offered one before my car is available, I'll probably take it. But I'm pretty set on taking the car anyway.
To be honest, I'd rather go without the test drive if it meant I could get hold of the car quicker. Bored of waiting now, I just want the bloody car.

As I'm expecting a late delivery (in the last 100 orders) I expect I'll be able to test drive before my car arrives.

Should have done what I did years ago - 18" wheels makes it so much more liveable!
I went from the Focus RS to the FK8, the ride is so much better. The drives modes actually work on the FK8.
But I did ditch the silly 20" OE Wheels with the 30 series rubber on the FK8 to 18" Wheels & 40 series Michelins from the get go.
Three years later those Michelins have done nearly 20,000 miles!
People were getting around 7k on the original FK8 Contis.

Not expecting my car till second half of next year maybe so I will try it before I buy it, but I'm expecting I will still buy anyway. It will have to drive like a roller skate with 3 rusty wheels for me to not take it.

Yes, mainly just to get a go and up the excitement levels in anticipation of getting mine in the New Year. 😁

I can't see it going badly, although I also want to contort myself into the back seat and see what it's like for a 6ft person. What could possibly go wrong. 🤣

Now I have an alternative that is working very well for the whole family I definitely need to test drive the 86 first.

Biggest stumbling block for me has been that you can't put kids seats in the front, you can't manually disable the passenger airbag (like you can in the Yaris / Supra!) and my kids refusal to sit in the back of a GT86.

This will make it a very expensive toy so it needs to be bloody good (and yeah, I still haven't got over how f***ing terrible Toyota have been throughout etc etc either)

If offered I’ll have a test drive, so I can rag the merry hell out of a TUK car.

It would be nice to see what Top Gear were on about with the learning of the clutch and 1st couple of gears. They suggested there is a bit of a knack, likely something simple like a high bite point
