GR86 GR86 - The “I’m thinking of cancelling / did cancel my order” thread

Already got the last Supra 😏

If I cancel I will go with a Caterham, different proposition I know, the Supra is not going anywhere, they aren't going to make them anymore 😁

I've been itching to build a Caterham for a while now and do the Academy.. already got this kit on the way next year (hopefully) though:

Sad to see someone else cancelling but fully understandable given the way Toyota U.K. have handled this ☹️ What I can categorically say is had the order been placed with my local dealer they would have kept me appraised of the situation, even if it was a call to say “we don’t know what the hold up is, but when we know we will call“ Looks like a classic case of Toyota going “online with E Commerce” without the competence and resources to do the job properly, Toyota are playing at it 😤 But let’s not the forget how successful Online was “GR86 sold out in 90 minutes“ 😂

So far on Cancellations we have the following, which I’ve removed from the Order List:

Cancellations ❌

1. @mjm346 - 6MT - Saphire Blue ❌
2. @callahan - 6MT - Crystal Black ❌
3. @Seano1878 6MT - Electric Blue ❌

Please let me know if this is accurate and hope folk stick around. 👍
Waiting to see a 6AT - Ignition Red being cancelled and then i can hold my mobile next to me waiting for that call from Toyota :)

Test driving an Alpine today. Fed up of waiting for anything to show up. Been promised that this car will be available by December (although he didn't say what year!)

I tested one not too long ago too, cracking chassis/ looks but it just didn't feel special enough to warrant the outlay

I picked up this last week Abarth 124. Great fun/noise having a blast with it but that’s compared to my 318d Estate daily!
Plan is to keep my GR86 order open with hopefully a collection this year!
Run them both for a month or so and keep the one that fits best with my driving/life style…. Or heck I may get a Supra or Alpine 🤣🤣🤣

Looks lovely. I looked at these before placing the order on the 86. They sound amazing and are pretty rare too. Will be interested to hear how you think it compares to the 86 (when it eventually arrives!)

I was loaned a 124 Abarth when my 595 comp was in for service, had a blast in it and ended up having it over a weekend due to warranty work on the comp. I’d love something like that alongside the i30N but they’ve held their values very well.

Wow, just looked at them on Autotrader.

They certainly have gone up a bit since I bought my last one for 16k

Great cars, but have a good look underneath when buying.

Yeah this is my 2nd 124… Lets just say I sold my first one a 2016 that had done 20k 3 years ago for the same price as my new to me one that’s done 60k😂… that inflation for you..

Abarth's are awesome cars if you like atmosphere and a fun drive as the engine has lots of character and the exhaust sound is very fruity. It'd make an excellent second car. I've had a passenger lap with a pro driver (can't remember what racing series he did) around the rockingham circuit and I was shocked at how quick and how well he could attack the track.

However they don't offer the driving dynamic of a 86.
