I did this little mod a few months ago because I couldn't stand the original mirror. Originally I was just going to use a mirror riser like many others but I had difficulty fitting it on and came to the conclusion that it didn't do enough for what I wanted. So, rather than drive without a rear view at all, I bought a little driving instructor mirror and fitted that.

I cut off the suction cup end off the mirror and luckily it was solid so I just drilled a little pilot hole into the middle of it. Then I got the mirror riser and drilled a hole through the middle of that, got a screw and screwed the two together with a couple of nuts between the two so it wouldn't rattle (also to space out a bit because the instructor mirror stalk was a little short). At the end, I ended up with a mirror half the size, raised up to the roof and one which still retained adjustability. Which is essential, because I let my mum drive the car occasionally because she loves it.

I used a Vauxhall Mokka mirror which looks OEM and keeps auto-dimming as it only requires 12v and ground (along with correct plug from Aliexpress). Here's my post from elsewhere:-

I was going to remove my mirror but thought I'd try this first, just done this conversion using a 2012-2016 Mokka mirror (#13369365). I chose this part as it has an extra bracket to mount my dashcam without attaching to my windscreen but this means the Yaris front cover can't go back on, you could also use part #13581081 if you don't want the extra bracket.

You will need to hacksaw some of the Vauxhall mirror mounting bracket to make it the same shape as the GRY one, you can where it's been filed in the pics below. This is not visible once mounted.

Removing the plug from Mokka mirror took some fiddling but was fine once I realised the white tabs at the side need sliding out to release the pins, you then poke something into where the wire enters the plug to push the barb in and pull out the wire/pin.

I'm not sure the auto-dimming works but I've never noticed it on any mirror. Maybe I got the wiring the wrong way around though? (Original mirror only has 2 wires connected - 1 & 4 - so I put the 3 remaining wires in random slots. Excuse my stripped ground wire, oops). I do hope to get one of those USB ports which should extend the factory plug and make installation easier.

Mounting the new mirror on the screen while plugged in is also a right bitch but I managed it in the end. Been for a drive down some bumpy lanes and the mirror is solid. All in all I'm made up with how it turned out! It's just the right size for the back window, could maybe be even slightly smaller but I'm happy - Toyota should have put no larger than this on at the factory.

I don't have the small front cover attached due to the camera mount getting in the way but might buy another to butcher and install at some point.
 
TOYOTA YARIS Interior Rear View Mirror 87810-0D080 2015. If you are over 6 ft and want the mirror at the highest point then this is the answer straight swap no need to change the plug. There is an extra piece of bracket to hacksaw off pretty obvious when you see it, takes 2 minutes max. The mirror is smaller than the original just shows the width of the back window. No more ducking and diving at road junctions and looks OEM.
Approx £30 second hand.

@Krusty, do you have a picture corresponding to 87810-0D080 Yaris 2015 and probably a price? Would be nice to have a number, a picture and a price in one place. TIA

Price for me was £30 second hand. They do vary in price because it is the same one fitted to the GRMN so shop around. I will try and get a picture tomorrow.
 
Just wanted to say a public thanks to @Krusty for his help with getting my own mirror sorted, I got a 2014 87810-0D080 and covered the fitting of it in my car's thread:

Fits 1:1 to stock bracket and stock electrics. I fitted a Tegiwa mirror riser too, so its very very close to the roof. Paid 80€, mirror is used, but mint.
 
when you switch the Auto button on and off do you see much difference?
 
Will test that...didnt drive yet....
But I noticed this question earlier....so I keep you updated

I tried on my new Yaris 18 mirror and I cant say I can see any difference at evenings but not experience it with a car with full light beam from behind.
 
I need to say that I didnt check the colour of the wiring. The plug is 1:1 the same, its 5 coloured pins at the oem stock mirror. Dont know exactly how many cables there are on the 2018 yaris mirror. Maybe there are less or the colours are switched. So could be that the plug fits but function is not available. The auto led works at my one, but need to test the dimming....
Maybe one that changes the mirror can check the cables and colours before fitting? I dont want to remove the mirror again :(
 
From memory the original mirror comes with about 5 wires some are for reversing etc but not used as the receiving plug on the car only has 2 wires. The button operates the on//off as you would expect on the 2018 with some darkening of the mirror after up to a minute maximum. Best upgrade i've done so far, literally plug and forget. No more annoying lack of view.
 
would be interresting to compare the size of
87810-0D080
and
87810-0D100

as they both fit plug and play....if one is smaller than the other that would be the winner ;)
 
Went for the 87810-0D100 which is about 24 cm wide. Now please don't tell me the other one is smaller as I have missed 0D080 also fits :D.

Now let's test the tolerance of this forum for the mechanically challenged ;). How on earth do you get the plug off from the original mirror? Anything to press or unclip? In my defense tried to undo the thing in the dark...

Update: actually seeing what's going on does help ;). New / used mirror installed. Makes a nice difference. Autodim also works, at least pretty sure. The effect (on the original mirror as well) is pretty subtle when you are looking for it, but effective enough to work well. Will fully test soon.

Can confirm auto dimming with 87810-0D100 works. Seems like I live in the midst of a SUV epidemic so was easy to test real world. Why do so many of the things have poorly aimed lights and/or shoddy H7 LEDs?

If you are more fortunate with fellow road user's vehicle choices, a simple test: just hold e.g. your mobile's flash light against the cabin facing sensor. It's very obvious how tinted it gets then. I _assume_ this needs to be done in the dark or with the windscreen facing sensor covered.

@Tralien thanks again for digging this out! I'm pretty happy with it. Width wise it fits for me. With the rear window being a letter box, it could be 25% or so less tall. But I don't think there's much out there fitting that niche. And 100% sure nothing as plug and play.
