Looks a good call. Those sills look great but will cop it from below from front tires and above from feetI was going to do what I did to another car, namely the highest impact parts:

All the front plus a pillars, mirrors and sill and 3/4.
But as the GR86 in the UK is cheaper than expected (and will need to live outdoors 24/7) I might go 100% as I think it's well worth it.
Yup. I went belt and braces with my last new car - PPF'd the sills and all low lovel bits and then put mudflaps on too just to be sure lol. Looks as good as new 6 years later without a markLooks a good call. Those sills look great but will cop it from below from front tires and above from feet![]()
I was thinking these areas as well.I was going to do what I did to another car, namely the highest impact parts:

To have the car wrapped as shown in the picture from Dal (plus rear bumper) with Xpel fusion PPF, I was quoted £1773.Good shout - looks like the key areas based on my high mileage Audi estate.
Curious in cost difference of this Vs the whole car.
I don’t think wrapping material gives the same level of protection as PPF, it’s better than nothing but no way near as “protective” as full On PPF.Ouch! That is hefty! About the same cost as a full wrap although appreciate that is a different product.
As per the picture it is then!!To have the car wrapped as shown in the picture from Dal (plus rear bumper) with Xpel fusion PPF, I was quoted £1773.
For the entire car they quoted a whopping £4410.
There are some Toyota “mudflaps” but more like small deflectors and quite subtle, not sure how effective they will beMine was £1499 + vat in xpel self healing when I had mine done in 2016 so expect it'll have gone up a bit now.
If the Xpel in the USA have patterns then the UK will have access to them too so all good.
Might have a few more wrapped edges this time as I doubt it'll suit mudflaps.
How did it fair? Any yellowing etc?Mine was £1499 + vat in xpel self healing when I had mine done in 2016 so expect it'll have gone up a bit now.

The PPF is still perfect and you still can't tell where it is unless you get up close. Yes, you can get resprays, but you'll see every stone chip until you do. This looks like new all the time. How did it fair? Any yellowing etc?
I've been thinking about doing it but for the costs others argue you can get the front end resprayed twice over.
Have I missed you off the listWatched the video as well, totally agree. Mainly it is to put some protection on but have done by Toyota so comes as manufacture standard for insurance purposes. For another car I have the insurance would no allow ceramic as raises costs to do any 'fixing', funny my local dealer for the GR86 is offering Gen-3 Clearcoat for GBP 499, however not details on polish first etc and the overall detailing. There is another USA video where the guy strips off the little rum of PPF across the bonnet saying it is essentially useless and gets dirt across the line, which would do my head in.
