That can't happen because of emissions legislation. It will remain very limited or they could wipe out profits with fines to the EU.
 
I think one key thing to note is that this car isn't even built by Toyota is it? I thought it was built by Subaru seeing as it uses a lot of their components... In their Gunma plant specifically. Semantics, I know.
 
Congratulations - I think the idea of cross-shopping a RWD coupe with an AWD hatchback is strange and to draw conclusions about what is superior or not is even stranger. In terms of driving experience the two couldn’t be any more different. I love the GR Yaris but have not for a second considered buying one as I am not interested in that format of car - I’m not sure what can be classed as “superior” in that respect.

Isn’t it crash regulations that is stopping the 86 not emissions or am I missing something?
 
I see someone on Pistonheads says they’ve had a call from their supplying dealer already and have said delivery is expected between 22June and 22 July?

Here’s hoping they do land that soon!

I think it’s to do with the roof height. Something like that

It is, and they build other models on the same line. Wont be so easy to ask mr Subaru to send a few 1000 more Gr86s down the line. ?

Bucket seats mounts - Me and a couple of other Gen 1 owners had bucket seat mounts made by Rogue Motorsport, that work with the factory sliders. See:

Forgot to reply to this but thank you for the suggestions - the Reyland kit looks pretty good value considering. I’m guessing you’ve tracked the GT86 before? What have your experiences been like with it? What weak points have you had to address?
