I mean?! What would that be?I saw someone tried to make the photo a bit clearer, and I see a big "R" at the right side of the the license plate holder, where there is usually thr GR badge.
Could it be some mysterious GR-R?

I don't see anything like thatI saw someone tried to make the photo a bit clearer, and I see a big "R" at the right side of the the license plate holder, where there is usually thr GR badge.

I reckon the 2.0 is destined for Celica or MR2, if they ever appear. I'm hoping MR2 as I'd love a sensible mid-engine car but I'm not holding my breath. And I think it'll be a Celica most likely.![]()
Doing the same on the source image from the FB post, I think it's a normal badge

- First use of a newly developed GR steering wheel
- Power steering setting modified by leveraging feedback from competing in motorsports
- Newly developed high-performance tires on certain trim levels*1
- Changes to factory-installed options
Yes, the only surprise was they basically left it untouched for four years initially, individual part refinements notwithstanding. All those traders that bought an Aero just to flip might as well just sell it at cost now as it’s already been superseded by this Type 26So new heated wheel, tweaked steering and suspension, and new rubber. Nice little upgrade though and got to applaud Toyota for constantly honing the GR even if it does suck a bit for those that just bought one. But hey it’s no different to what Nissan done with the GT-R every year or what Porsche do with the 911.
In theory, the steering wheel is the same for left- and right-hand drive... however, they're frequently changing the power steering setup, and I'm starting to have doubts about what they're really doing...Everybody calm down.
Can’t change the steering wheel anyway, because it’s RHD. Duh!![]()
Came here to say this. This is my biggest takeaway from the announcement. Much much better naming then calling it prefacelift, post facelift. Mk1 and mk2 never made sense to me since they are the same generation. From now on I will be calling them exactly like you mentioned. Type 20 , Type 24 and Type 26.A worthy set of updates I would say. Some complimentary tweaks to things like suspension tuning are also mentioned.
I like the naming convention, Type 20, Type 26 etc.
Pity they didn’t use that when they released what I suppose we must now call the Type 24!

Second takeaway is I really lusted after that steering wheel when I saw it on the RR I hope it will be available and somewhat affordable for LHD cars.
