GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

36k service day. I see you @Sticky 👀

Service complete and factory remap done. Couldn’t replace the diff oil due to the plug being corroded and seized. Ive been reassured mine isnt the only one! Will get it done on the next servoce as they didntnhave the plug in stock.

The car doesnt look pretty underneath after three winters. Need to find time to get underneath it, clean it all up and treat any rust, and cover in Dynax.

Thoughts on the remap?
The drive drive back ended up being in a lot of stop start rush hour traffic, so I can’t give it a proper appraisal yet. But, what I have already noticed is that the power delivery seems smoother. It’s torquier in the stop start traffic, making it actually more driveable. They ‘heavy’ steering is not noticeable around town and car parks, looking forward to trying it on some flowing mountain roads.

On the one twisty section I did notice it definitely pulls out of corners harder, at 3-4.5k revs. I haven’t tried an aftermarket tuned GR, but I suspect that I wouldn’t want this taken away from my car now that I’ve got it 😆

I've not been keeping up clearly. Factory remap?

Edit: Oh it's the Kinto stuff available in the UK now. Neat. What settings did you get?

This is why you do it while it is brand new and without seeing its first winter.

Fitted brake ducts and then gave it a good wash.

I have those in red too. Work nice, they help to keep temps in decent range with stock pads & discs on the road.
FYI, I lost one of the screws after +/- 2500 km. Do not hesitate to put thread stopper on those to avoid the same issue as I did, because not only I could have had a puncture (on a 1200 km new tyre) but it could have been ripped off and caused other damage. Without mentioning the PIA to find the same screw !

Today I checked the capacity. I was worried about how to transport 4 tires and 4 disks to the service. Everything fit and there was even room left for the passenger.
There are races on the weekend, I will test sports tires from the Chinese.
I will add the final photo of 4 tires and 4 wheels later.

Ordered a Strongflex Red torque mount insert today, Material hardness is a little increased from Powerflex Yellow but not as hard as the black. Also only 22 euro plus delivery. Look forward to getting this fitted as my OEM torque mount rubber is feeling weak/broken like many have experienced.

Just got home, the car’s a credit to you @RichP , good luck with your next purchase!
