GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

depending on package how it works I think this could be a potential next car after GR.
Depends a lot on sizing. if its too big then its a no go.

A modern MR2 definitely appeals, I had an SW20 Turbo for 5 years which was the largest of the three generations.

Compared to the Yaris, the MR2 is narrower but longer. I suspect it'll be possible for a new MR2 to be similar in size to the SW20, and a new Celica to be similar in size to a GR86.

Have anyone opened up the mk2 engine to look for any difference between the mk1?

I was thinking more like youtubers or shops looking into it. PDF is not that exciting lol 😅

So, I just visited my local dealer, and he shared an interesting rumor – apparently, the factory has stopped taking new orders for Gen2 cars. The reason? They’re supposedly working on a new model with a 2.0L engine that can be tuned up to 600hp. The catch? It won’t be available in European markets 🙃
Let’s see if this turns out to be true…

if such exist, I will get one from JPN, and reg is as a competition vehicle.

Taking this with a grain of salt, what dealer person said that is, about not being orderable anymore.
First of all it is still present in the Latvian Toyota homepage, and then, accessing information that is available for Employees in the Toyota network, it still shows up as orderable as of this moment. This is information available to all on the same level.

The rumor about the new 2.0 liter up to 600 bhp engine has been floating around the internet for a while though and that i agree on.

Interesting… I'm just sharing what the dealer told me. Apparently, they recently had a client who tried to order 5 (!?!) GR Yaris, but the factory rejected the order.

Well yeah, interesting indeed, but hearing how many cars other countries have to sell that are Electric or Hybrid per one GR Yaris sold, maybe it aint that weird when someone wants 5 in a place like ours, without going through the TRD division or whatever if it is meant for motorsport for the client, or however it works, after all Toyota can supply whom they choose.

Estonia seems like an easy place to do this.. Seeming as all TGR Rally2 cars built in Finland come with Estonian SP 'competition' registration number initially. Saw one of Red Greys Recce cars on the commute to work a few weeks back cruising through Tallinn on Estonian competition plates.

Sounds like Armin Schwarz was trying to get a few more for his collection.. ;) His Lapland Rally School is running some seriously trick GR Yaris (Reiger suspension etc.

I'm betting that's just the GR Yaris M (the mid engine concept) rumour doing the rounds

There isn't a lot that would get me to consider swapping mine for something, but this generations 6R4/Clio V6 would do it.

If the price increase from mk1 to mk2 was £12k with little updates (hardware) what do you think it’ll be for limited edition mk3 with a new 4cyl 600hp engine and updated DAT? Yeah as much as I’d like one I think I’ll be well and truly priced out of the market tbh. With mk2 specials being £60k I reckon it’ll be somewhere nearer £70k+!

similar car as mk1 GRMN if they ever did one. will be expensive and limited availability. should have thread on its own. factory build GR Yaris on steroids. But as said if special editions were hard to get, those will be even harder. luckily you can always do skunk works projects. I bet nobody notices if there is 4cyl instead of 3 in engine compartment.

Is there already a solution to permanently or automatically disabling RSA when car is started?

This feature annoys me so much I can't handle it. I feel it's not safe me looking at menus to disable it everytime I drive for first 100m. I'm getting Land Cruiser with same feature soon and I really don't want to be stuck with who cars which make me pissed off everytime I have to disable this.

Hi, new gen 2 driver as well. Unfortunately in EU no, regulations mandate that it will turn on again on every start. Basically what i do is that on one of the dashboards i have settings dial on the center, so on startup: 1. switch left, press ok, 3 speedrun presses down, 1 press to disable, then i switch to my "main" dash i use the most. Tbh it really sounds bad when writing it down like this :D But I take it as necessary routine, takes me ~3 seconds. Edit: plus I let the car warm up a little before driving out, so I use it to disable it.
