While we are waiting for our cars to arrive I’m sure most folk will be making plans for some goodies for the new arrival, mine will be an Ignition Red 6AT, after managing to change colour from Electric Blue.

I’m expecting this may be my last ICE car so looking at it as a longterm keeper, especially with a 10/11 year Toyota Warranty. I’m not planning on any engine modifications, more “visual“ changes. Here are some ideas, which I’m sure will change but the idea is to create a GR86 (or 66 in my case) Club Series Ignition Red Edition 😎

A bit of a cross between this

And the MK1 TT Quattro Sport 240 which I had in silver

Not everyone’s cuppa but it’s what makes you happy 😎

1. Private plate GR66 Zoo
2. Paint Protection Film on key areas
3. Bosch wiper blades (if the GR86 comes with usual Toyota rubbish)

Over time as a long term project
4. Black roof wrap, possibly carbon fibre
5. A duckbill in black / carbon fibre
6. Brembo or TRD brakes front and rear (GR86 calipers look like they came off our C-HR☹️)
7. Different alloys, possibly Toyota 17inch Bronze forged
8. TRD gear shifter
9. Sound system upgrade?
10. TRD door closers
11. TRD engine bay struts to strut brace
?
What are you are planning 🤔😎

Update , a pair of these would help with the TT QS look 😎 Recaro Pole Position seats are definitely “love em or hate em” , I loved them , found them very comfortable, and “snug” 😉

I plan to run it bone stock for the run in (which I believe is 1,000 miles) then stick a cat back exhaust on, lowering springs and new wheels/tyres. Then next year coilovers and maybe some other stuff! Track days a-plenty too.

I would like to get a cat back as well... but don't know which one to go for.

1. Track days
2. Road trips
3. Probably speaker upgrade, depending on how bad the standard unit is
4. But mostly, persuading my family that it really is practical and the feeling will come back to their legs eventually.

1. PPF
2. Get some miles on it! I'm currently only doing about 5k miles a year across 2 cars so need to make a lot more excuses to get out of the house!

3... I'd like a ducktail on it I think but no rush on that.

1. PPF including black roof (on bright blue paint)
2. Trackday after run in
3. buy some 17s and put track rubber on them (AD08R likely), as they'll only be on the car for track days I can be a bit more 'out there' with my design / colour choice
4. likely new pads after I cook them with the grippy tyres

I'd like to get rid of the recessed tailpipe look with catback but need to be mindful of noise limits at places like Bedford, best sound might come from unequal length headers?

Nothing definite but dependent on cost and how the car looks and sounds when I see it for real...

PPF
Ducktail
Calipers... paint and/or Gazoo Racing decals
Delete fake engine noise

The main plan is to drive it though 🙂

1. TOM'S STEERING WHEEL
2. TRD engine damper
3. TWS T66-F FDG 18 8.5J ET42
Can I ask where do you buy these? Quite cumbersome to know which company has the best prices and is trustworthy.

My plan

PPF. Any recommendations in the Berkshire area?
Drive it
Track day
Wrap roof black
Some 18 or 17 Lightweight wheels
Duckbill

1. Unplug fake engine noise plug
2. PPF
3. Brake upgrade
4. 2nd Wheel set (17") with Michelin Cup 2 probably
4. Lots and lots of Super Unleaded.
5. Donington Park
6. Mallory Park
7. Silverstone
8. Bedford Autodrome
9. Cadwell Park

directly from Jap or via Hong Kong BUT I need the confirmation of the car from the dealer FIRST:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I just picked up a C8 corvette (not mine unfortunately!) that had full PPF done by Deluxe Car Care in Ascot, really good job. I spoke to them about getting partial PPF and ceramic everything else on the GR86 and changing the roof to black (you can get black PPF now apparently), waiting for a quote.

That's great, let me know how much please

Hehe, I get that but have you got a website? Japancarparts or yahoo auctions or other? I only have bought from amayama but that's mainly for parts for my other car

Tegiwa import Toms parts, maybe a good starting point, I think @ZN8 knows of a firm which imports parts directly from Japan 🤔

Sounds like a few of us must be fairly local to eachother! I found these guys yesterday through the Xpel website and reviews seem good.

Ideally I'd take it straight there from the dealer if pricing and availability is ok.

I'm going back there in a fortnight so they can do the first wash of the C8, will enquire about a potential group buy and set up a thread accordingly

86worx has a good variety which you don't normally see over here. I'd check out their website https://www.86worx.com/ for OEM JDM stuff https://www.japanparts.com/
