GR Yaris MRSUB`s Scarlet Flare

Great to see one in Scotland. Hoping to get mine soon and Braemar -Glen Shee road will be a must!

Took it on that road 4 days after collection :ROFLMAO:

Right spent hours and hours today fitting PPF and ceramic coating.

Washed it with Citrus pre wash, then Polar blast snow foam then polar clean. Used over 10 microfibres :ROFLMAO:

Dried with auto finesse drying towel then on to PPF.

@Sticky The PPF was awesome I was a bit daunted at first as I tried to tint windows years ago and it was to be honest crap. Just took my time and it all went on great, hardest one was the boot lid section getting it to fold over the top and bottom but I got there. The spoiler, sills and extended rear arch PPF was OK and I am well happy with the result.

Then onto the Auto Finesse Caramics ceramic coating. One panel at a time with prep spray first then the ceramic coating and all buffed off after the 5 minute hold time. Again used over 10 microfibres :ROFLMAO:

Just finished at 22:30 so here are some pics from inside the garage for those who are interested.

I will take more tomorrow outside.

Cheers.

I’d like to do the same myself with the auto finesse kit, have a drive way , but no garage . Is it best to ceramic coat inside ? Don’t really want to spend £ 600 on a detailer

Yeah thats why I did it quoted £650 for mine - No Thanks.

All it says is don`t expose the car to the elements for at least 6 hours. If you could guarantee a shady spot and no rain then it may be OK. This is the first time I have ceramic coated so I am no expert and would say a garage would be best.

Others on here will have way more experience than me in detailing and coating.

If I didnt have a garage then I would try and borrow one. (y)

Thanks for the advice . Think I may look at getting an awning . The pics of your car look so good after you had done it , inspired me to give it a go myself. 👍

No Worries appreciate that - Awning or Gazebo is a top idea. Mine did come out well I was a bit skeptical but it came out ace. Awesome I have inspired you to have a go (y)(y). This forum is great for advice and if someone has already done it helped me with front and rear dash cam wired to fusebox and mud flap fitting also. My car got pretty dirty on a big run at the weekend and all I did to clean it was citrus pre-wash, jet wash off, Polar blast foam for 10 mins, jet wash off, Polar clean foam for 10 mins and jet wash off and it was spotless back to the day I coated it and no touch by a microfibre or anything - shows the coating works no touch wash and its back to looking awesome.

That’s about 18 months worth of cleaning for me! 😁

Gyeon Cancoat Evo (or Pure) can be done outside. Worth a look if you have doubts about the auto finesse kit

Sounds like a good method. I’m not overly anal about keeping my cars absolutely spotless , my car will be my only car and daily driver , but I do want to look after it as best I can 👍

Mirror Modification done today. Working from home as I have the Covid AGAIN!!

My cleaning regime

1. Start with good intentions of really doing a good job, have a cuppa!
2. Get out bucket, shampoo and sponge, look at other cleaning products, given to me by dealer because the car was delivered the wrong colour!!
3. Decide that the additional products can wait for another day, fill bucket with water and shampoo, have another cuppa
4. Start to sponge car, realise it is sunny and car is black so drying quicker than washing...
5. Continue anyway as it will look really crap if i stop now!
6. Finish soaping car, extremely streaky as the sun is now warming the car up lovely, definitely looks worse than when i started, have a cuppa
7. Look at weather app and realise it is going to rain tomorrow, which will hopefully wash the streaks off
8. Give up and put bucket away for another 6 months!!

I wont post pics of before or after as it looks bad both ways, but i still love and it goes like stink!

Blimey if that is a quick clean!!!

How long does a proper clean take!!

Looks great though!!
:ROFLMAO: Cheers - Think the Ceramic coat helps a lot though a proper clean can be hours and hours for me. First time I have ceramic coated a car and have to say I am impressed so far.

Found a Gravel Playground and explored Sport mode and the Handbrake - WOW this car is amazing. The control you have even in proper sideways drifts is amazing and the transition from left to right drift or vice versa is nothing short of brilliant. Bloody big Cheeser here :D
