I can only chime in that my Auto yaris is also on Galveston Highway, and the latest ETA it to reach the dealer in the Baltics was 31.07, Markku's will go on a trailer from Spain to Italy, maybe dealers prognosis for mid August or September was correct, although it shouldnt be, realistically it should not take more than a week to drive overland IMO. The milage is not much, but if the trailer needs to drop of cars in multiple countries, driving only 8 hours per day, all can add up. We just have to wait for an answer from him. I know it is getting harder and harder for me, as it approaches our shores.

For me the app worked ok, as far as the steps that it contains, a day or two after it arrives in belgium it should show the next step for me AFAIK.
As i understand the app should have more info after Belgium, like the VIN e.t.c.

It depends on what you mean by "better." Many people have traded their 911 for a Cayman because they believe it's a superior car in every way, except if "better" only refers to straight-line speed.
Even hardcore enthusiasts have traded GT3’s for GT4’s.

What do you mean with difficult ? I also chose a top trim automatic GR Yaris for my order arriving within a month. I am just honestly telling you that as i get older, and with traffic only increasing from year to year, i just want to have a comfortable daily driver with some power, that is also fun in the deep winters we get here, as i get older, i get more anxious, all the sporty drag race starts from the traffic lights, i am honestly just scared to burn and destroy the clutch realy quickly, i know that is a me problem, but for a daily driver, i chose automatic personally, for me this is a daily car. On the work van the clutch started slipping at about 72 k km, it does get used to tow cars on a trailer and so but anyway, i just dont want the extra risk really, for evertyhing else there is the standart and relax warranty, in my region it is 10 years or 185 k km's. It is just very relaxing to turn out of my street that is 50 meters from the highway, put one the cruise control and forget about changing gears, all i gotta do is just hold the wheel till 36 km's later. If i want to drive sporty, i can just puit it to manual and sport mode and enjoy it that way as well, everyone is different
Reminds me that the clutch on my first sporty car Focus ST Mk2, also started slipping a few years after i modded its power.
As the manual gearbox was the weak link in the mk1 the auto must give a better experience.
It seems to last well if you are not too wreckless or ask too much torque from the engine. Normal track and fast road use no issues so far. And we yet don't have experience how that auto box works or lasts. At least it has been marketed quite a bit to be better choice for average Joe but what is the real life preformance time will tell.
Mate I'm all for the Auto for those that want it but I'm pretty sure that a transmission that has noticeable lag on downshifts won't give you a better experience than the manual. I don't think this debate will ever end because there are positive and negative aspects to both choices.
This is not a PDK (and it's probably not even going to be up to the standard of a ZF8 for example..) and people should be aware of that.
I've asked two journalists who tested new GR Yaris yesterday from our region and both said it's an ok automatic. Nobody has been blown away as expected, but they said it's not a gearbox which they would mind having. One complained about cheap plastic flappy paddles (I think this will be first upgrade most people do).
I ordered Automatic. Am I worried that I made a wrong choice? Yeah.
Why I ordered automatic:
- I have another manual sports car
- I plan to use GR for daily stuff (I don't really commute but there will be a need to do kindergarten and shop runs)
- Hopefully a lot better for highway use (8th gear)

That is what I was aiming at with my comment.
Will it be a bad choice or a bad Gearbox by any reasonable standard? No.
Will it be better than the manual for actual performance driving? I really don't think so.
It is great that they are giving people the choice now and even though I would never go for it I can absolutely see why people might.

It's difficult because they're all individual opinions. My opinion is that an automatic transmission in a GRY is equivalent to a total write-off. Your opinion is completely different. That's why it's difficult to say "this or that is better!" It always depends on the individual. For example, I say it's more important to me not to have an ISA from 2024 than the latest model. Squaling track pads are already bit silly for kindergarten tour, not to mention whining sequential. They might call children care services if the "illness" goes that far.
