Oh!!Just woken up to find a refund in my bank account from K&N. No email explaining why, and the website is playing up![]()
My order is still approved too which is good news. The site is back up so I logged in. Order status still just says "Approved", no sign of it being cancelled. Have sent them an email asking what gives, that was a good price so I'll be miffed if I miss out on it :/

I like the look of the GruppeM kit. It would be nice to have comparable back to back testing to see what if any benefits each respective kit brings with it given the various types and price points of available options on the market.
If I recall, that one gruppem and a copy of it don't seal properly up front, basically they stuck hot air from the engine bay. That looks really good (and expensive!).

Mine
There are air feeds mounted behind the bumper from the grill to the slam panel which slide inside of the airbox so I would hope that does the job.
Caveat obviously being as I said in my post that it would be nice to see back to back comparisons of all of the kits on the market to discover which is the most beneficial vs stock.
Now for the bad news, this is definitely not a ram air intake. The two ducts that feed into the intake each have giant holes on the back side likely to act as a safety against hydrolocking (I'm okay with this). Any "extra" air that could be forced into these ducts will just exit out of those holes. Also where these two ducts meet up with the main airbox there is literally nothing sealing these connections. The ducts are pointed at the airbox with one ending up inside of it while the other side stops just short of fitting inside.
So this design absolutley fails at being a ram intake but I have a feeling it should at least be able to maintain cooler air intake temps. Even if the ram/ducts aren't sealed they should at least be able to feed cool air to the air box or atleast displace any hot air from the engine bay. I guess the bonus of all the extra holes and gaps is letting out more noise and being safe from hydrolocking

My order is still approved too.I know someone who had an Eventuri carbon intake on his E46 M3. Absolutely howled. I imagine they are going to be expensive options though.
Absolutely no reply from K&N so far. But the order status still shows as "Approved". Not sure what's going on.
The designs from Eventuri and Infinity are worth a look when they are released. They are the ones I'm keeping an eye on.
Had a response today:My order is still approved too.
The price included an "Import Fee Deposit" which I think is mean to cover all that up front....but I don't know for sure, I guess I won't until it arrives. That’s annoying!
Fair play ordering from Amazon, is there duty and vat to pay though?
Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it, and interested to know how much room is left around the oil filter for additional oil cooler lines. Looks a bit cozy. The price included an "Import Fee Deposit" which I think is mean to cover all that up front....but I don't know for sure, I guess I won't until it arrives.
@grzoostuff you ordered from Amazon...did you have to pay any extra fees on delivery?
